Psaki: We don't have confirmation of the use [of poisonous gas by Russia]…it is difficult to get the data. We did have credible information that they may use a variety of riot control agents, including tear gas…in order to weaken and incapacitate Ukrainian fighters and civilians.
[I never heard Psaki or any official warn about 'tear gas' or 'riot control agents'; they always say 'chemical weapons']
Just watched a replay of Blinken's earlier briefing, and he used almost the exact wording about Russia possibly using chemical weapons that Psaki did in her press conference. They have both suddenly began saying, 'riot control agents', and 'tear gas', instead of the terrifying term, 'chemical weapons'.
Blinken: We had credible information that Russian forces may use a variety of riot control agents, including tear gas mixed with chemical agents, that would cause stronger symptoms, to weaken and incapacitate entrenched Ukrainian fighters and civilians.
