Jen Psaki responds to first busload of migrants arriving in DC: 'It's nice the state of Texas is helping them'

White House press secretary Jen Psaki responded to the first busload of migrants being sent to Washington, D.C., by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) during Wednesday's media briefing.

Psaki was asked whether the Biden administration had any reaction to the arrival of the migrants by Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich.

"The first bus of migrants arrived in DC today, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott making good on his promise to send migrants to the president's doorstep, I think you previously called it a 'publicity stunt,' is that still the view of the White House? Can you give us any reaction to this busload of migrants arriving here in D.C.?" asked Heinrich.

"Well, these are all migrants who have been processed by CBP and are free to travel," responded Psaki, "so It's nice the state of Texas is helping them get to their final destination as they await the outcome of their immigration proceedings and they are all on immigration proceedings."

She went on to call it a "political stunt."

Abbott announced the program during a media briefing last week in response to the administration dropping the Title 42 policy that placed restrictions on asylum seekers due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is widely accepted that a massive wave of migrants will pour over the border once the policy is lifted.

"We are sending them to the United States Capitol where the Biden Administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they’re allowing to come across our border," said Abbott at the time.

Some criticized Abbott when Texas authorities admitted that any migrants taking the bus trip to the Capitol would do so voluntarily.

“His own office admits that a migrant would need to voluntarily be transported, and then he can’t compel them to because, again, enforcement of our country’s immigration laws lies with the federal government and not a state,” said Psaki last week.

Nazi hunter calls out what Canada did in Ukraine

Azov fighters are neo-Nazis and Ottawa had to know this, Simon Wiesenthal Center’s Efraim Zuroff tells Canadian media

Director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Israel has condemned Canadian troops for training neo-Nazi fighters in Ukraine, saying it was Ottawa’s responsibility to make sure such things did not happen. The Canadian military, however, denied any obligation to vet the training recipients.

“The Canadian government didn’t do its due diligence,” Efraim Zuroff told the Ottawa Citizen on Wednesday. “It’s the responsibility of the Canadian defence ministry to know exactly who they are training.”

“There is no question that there are neo-Nazis in different forms in Ukraine, whether they are in the Azov regiment or other organizations,” he added.

His comments came after a Radio Canada report on Monday that back in November 2020, Canadian troops were photographed training members of the “Azov” regiment as well as a at least one soldier weathering the insignia of the SS division “Galizien,” a Ukrainian unit that had fought for the Nazis in WWII.

The Canadian military acknowledged the photos’ authenticity, the Ottawa Citizen reported. However, Canadian Forces (CAF) denied having an obligation to vet the soldiers it was training.

Ukraine is responsible for vetting its own personnel, Captain Véronique Sabourin told the newspaper. All Canadian military members training Ukrainian troops were briefed on how to recognize insignia “associated with right-wing extremism,” and if they suspected such ties or “racist views” the trainees would be removed. However, “There is no burden of proof on the CAF to demonstrate this beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government has vocally supported Ukraine since February 24, when Russia sent troops into the neighboring country on a mission to “demilitarize and denazify” the government in Kiev. Governments and media across the West have since also begun to insist that claims about “Azov” and other units of the Ukrainian military having Nazi sympathies was “Russian disinformation.”

It’s not Russian propaganda, far from it,” Zuroff told the Citizen. “These people are neo-Nazis. There is an element of the ultra-right in Ukraine and it’s absurd to ignore it.”

Canada has reportedly spent nearly a billion dollars ($794 million US) on training Ukrainian troops since the 2014 coup in which Western-backed nationalists overthrew the country’s democratically-elected government. Neo-Nazi fighters were instrumental regime-change operation, and the Azov Battalion was used to suppress dissent afterward.

According to the Citizen, Canada’s Joint Task Force Ukraine actually produced a briefing in 2017 noting that “multiple members of Azov have described themselves as Nazis.”

Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr pleads guilty to forcible touching

Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr has pleaded guilty to one count of forcible touching, in a protracted criminal case accusing him of violating three different women at various Manhattan night spots in 2018 and 2019.

Gooding, 54, was arrested in June 2019 after a 29-year-old woman told police he squeezed her breast without her consent in a bar near Times Square.

A few months later, he was charged in two additional cases as more women came forward to accuse him of abuse.

The new charges alleged he pinched a server's buttocks after making a sexually suggestive remark in a restaurant, and forcibly touched a woman inappropriately in a nightclub, both in 2018.

Gooding pleaded guilty to the nightclub allegation.

The Jerry Maguire star had previously pleaded not guilty to six misdemeanour counts and denied all allegations of wrongdoing.

His lawyers have argued that overzealous prosecutors, caught up in the fervour of the #MeToo movement, are trying to turn "commonplace gestures" or misunderstandings into crimes.

The judge had ruled that if the case went to trial, prosecutors could have called two additional women to testify about their allegations that Gooding also violated them.

Those women, whose claims did not result in criminal charges, were among 19 other accusers whom prosecutors were seeking to call as witnesses.

Along with the criminal case, Gooding is accused in a lawsuit of raping a woman in New York City in 2013.

After a judge issued a default judgement in July because Gooding had not responded to the lawsuit, the actor retained a lawyer and is fighting the allegations.

The Head Of A Christian Texas School Told Kids The Church Is ‘Normalizing Same-Sex Relationships’

The head of an Episcopal church school in Texas told students that the church is embracing LGBTQ ideology and “normalizing same-sex relationships,” according to an audio recording obtained exclusively by the Daily Caller.

David Baad, the Head of School at the Episcopal School of Dallas (ESD), encouraged students to “affirm” the identities of the “LGBTQ” ideology in the name of the Episcopal Church, according to the audio recording. Baad evoked a quote from the Episcopal church’s Presiding Bishop Michael Curry, who appears on CNN’s “Don Lemon Tonight.”

“[Homosexuality] is an issue about which the Episcopal church has taken a very clear position,” Baad said. “Mike Curry … has a quote that sums it up … ‘LGBTQ siblings, we stand with you in this moment. And we continue to affirm that you are, and always have been, a blessing to our church. But, above all, you are children of God.’”

“This includes normalizing same-sex relationships, so that gay couples are comfortable being out among us in the same appropriate ways that heterosexual couples are,” Baad continued.

Baad is one of several administrators and teachers pushing an ideology on students and online. ESD’s Rev. Nate Bostian authored a blog on the cohesion of the Episcopal Church and controversial “diversity, equity, and inclusion” ideology. Teacher Jenn Jarnagin posted several tweets berating white people, according to screenshots obtained by the Daily Caller.

Jewish approval of Biden drops to 63% from 80% last year

'Jewish Americans continue to support President Biden and the Democratic Party at levels higher than the general American voting population,' says head of Jewish group

The good news for Joe Biden is that a majority of U.S. Jews approve of the job he is doing.The bad news is that the number in a new poll, 63%, is a sharp double-digit drop from last year's 80%.

Both polls were carried out by GBAO Strategies. The Jewish Electorate Institute put a positive spin on the numbers. “Jewish Americans continue to support President Biden and the Democratic Party at levels higher than the general American voting population, a trend that appears on track to continue in this year’s midterm elections and in the future,” said the group’s chairman, Martin Frost, a former Jewish Democratic congressman from Texas.

Biden’s approval numbers generally have dropped precipitously in the last year, a result of a botched exit from Afghanistan, a persistent pandemic and inflation that his government can’t stem. His approval rating generally is hovering at 42%, the lowest of his presidency.

Jewish voters generally favor Democrats. One area Biden scores well among Jews is in his handling of Russia’s war against Ukraine, with 72% approving.

Support for Democrats on a generic congressional ballot also dropped from 68% to 61% while support for Republicans rose from 21% to 26%. Both parties are already campaigning heavily in Jewish communities where shifts in the vote can change the make-up of Congress, where Democrats have a thin majority.

The pollsters reached 800 registered Jewish voters via text from March 28-April 3 and the margin of error is 3.5 percentage points.
