Many were crucified, and died.

One man was crucified, and dismissed his spirit and died like a King dismissing a courtier.

Puzzling his enemies.

To the point where they verified his death by piercing his heart with a spear.

And when the sun went dark, and the earth shook, even the head centurion knew that they had killed the Son of God.

Jesus remained on the earth for 40 days following the resurrection, and appeared to as many as 500 believers, including all of his apostles except for the dead Judas.

Jesus likely caught up with Judas in Torment when he was there to free the righteous from Hades and lead them to heaven.

40 is a number of significance in the bible; it is a time of testing, a time of trial.

I believe that had Israel turned to Jesus as their Messiah during that 40 day period, you and I would not be having this conversation.
