You didn't quote the whole thing that anon had said.

It included a qualifier.

"Either Jesus' sacrifice was good enough…for all who have sinned, recognize it, and turn away seeking redemption."

Only His people "recognize it" (that they have sinned),

and seek His redemption.

That's the whole point for His saving them "from THEIR sins".

See?

Your logic is spot on.

Supposedly,

as the theory goes,

partial days were counted as "days".

Under this theory,

Sunday morning qualifies as the "third day".

This theory falls apart when we keep in mind Jewish days started at sunset.

If it were true Sunday were the "third day",

it wouldn't have ended until Sunday evening.

Yet,

the two men traveling to Emmaus on Sunday morning said the time "was past".

Why did they abandon waiting at Jerusalem if the third day had not yet ended?

Here's the kicker.

Christ arose at the start of the first day of the week,

which would then also be the end of the previous seventh day of the week,

which had been the weekly Sabbath.

The first day of the week,

according to Jewish reckoning started Saturday evening.

Three days earlier would have been Wednesday evening.
