US Intelligence Cannot Support Claims Russia Committing Genocide in Ukraine - Reports

The US intelligence agencies do not have information collected to support President Joe Biden's claims that Russia is allegedly committing genocide in Ukraine, NBC News reported citing senior Biden administration officials.

The report said on Friday that Biden administration officials have said US intelligence reports on Ukraine do not support Biden's claims that genocide is taking place in Ukraine.

A US intelligence official said in the report that genocide includes the goal of destroying an ethnic group or nation but so far that is not what they are seeing in Ukraine.

Two State Department officials also added that Biden's remarks made it difficult for them to come up with unbiased legal assessments of what is happening in the conflict zone.

Biden has previously spoken emotionally about the actions of the Russian military more than once. On Tuesday, he used the word "genocide" to refer to the situation in Ukraine and its impact on the world. And in late March, during his visit to Warsaw, Biden claimed that the Russian president "cannot remain in power". Following that, the White House had to assure that the US administration does not want a regime change in Russia.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded by saying Russia considers such allegations to be attempts to completely distort the situation on the ground and that they are unacceptable.

On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine after the breakaway republics of Donetsk and Lugansk requested help to defend them from intensifying attacks by Ukrainian troops. Russia said that the aim of its operation is to demilitarize and de-Nazify Kiev regime and its activities are solely targeting the country's military infrastructure.

According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the goal is to protect the people of Donbas, "who have been subjected to abuse, genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years."

Ukraine preparing another rocket attack on civilians, Russia warns

Moscow gives details of Kiev’s plan to massacre civilians and blame Russia

The Ukrainian government is preparing a false-flag attack against a railway station filled with civilian refugees, in order to accuse Russia of war crimes, the Russian military announced on Friday. Moscow cited intelligence to name the target, method, and even point of origin of the impending attack, which it said was patterned after the recent carnage in Kramatorsk.

“The Kiev regime is preparing another monstrous provocation, similar to the one carried out in Kramatorsk, to accuse Russian servicemen of war crimes with a massacre of civilians,” Lieutenant General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Defense Management Center, said on Friday afternoon.

According to Mizintsev, the 19th Missile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine intends “in the near future” to fire a Tochka-U tactical ballistic missile at “the accumulation of refugees at the railway station” at Lozovaya – a city in the Kharkov region and a major rail junction.

In order to make the strike look like it came from territory controlled by the Donetsk People's Republic or Russian forces, the rocket will come from Staromikhaylovka, a village west of Donetsk held by the Kiev forces, the general added.

Such actions demonstrate Ukraine’s “inhuman attitude towards the fate of civilians” and “complete disregard for all norms of morality and international humanitarian law,” said Mizintsev.

“We warn in advance the countries of the so-called ‘civilized West’ led by the US that the Russian Federation has a body of operational evidence about the upcoming terrible crimes of the Kiev regime,” the Russian general added, along with a reminder that Tochka-U tactical missiles are “used only by the Ukrainian armed forces.”

‘Nothing will dissuade’ the US from arming Ukraine – White House

The US will continue to pour weapons into Ukraine, despite Russia reportedly warning of “consequences,” Washington says

State Department spokesmanNed Price told CNN on Friday that “nothing will dissuade” the Biden administration from funneling weapons to Ukraine. Earlier, Russia reportedly sent a diplomatic cable to Washington warning of “unpredictable consequences” if these arms shipments continue.

“The Russians have said some things privately, they have said some things publicly; nothing will dissuade us from the strategy that we’ve embarked on,” Price told CNN’s Kate Bolduan. If the Kremlin is concerned that the Biden administration is “providing billions of dollars worth of security assistance to our Ukrainian partners … then we’re guilty as charged,” he added.

The US has sent more than $2.5 billion worth of arms and other military aid to Ukraine since Russia launched its offensive in February. Initially shipping thousands of anti-tank missiles and ammunition to the war-torn country, the Biden administration has more recently forwarded heavier weapons to the government of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Sri Lankan government announced on Tuesday a temporary suspension of repayment in all external debts of about $51 billion due to the worsening economic crisis in the country caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and the Ukraine war.

“We have lost the ability to repay foreign debt. It has come to a point that making debt payments are challenging and impossible,” Central Bank Governor Nandalal Weerasinghe said at the media briefing.

Sri Lanka’s foreign reserves stood at $1.93 billion last month, but it has around $4 billion in foreign debt payments that are due this year, according to BBC.

Half a million people have sunk into poverty since the pandemic, with rising costs forcing many to cut back on food, the Guardian reported.

Biden administration resumes after-dark migrant flights to airport outside NYC

The White House has quietly resumed its after-dark charter flights of underage migrants to a suburban airport north of New York City — after a Post expose led to their suspension last year.

The Post watched as a group of migrant teens got off an Avelo Airlines plane that arrived at the Westchester County Airport near White Plains at 9:25 p.m. Thursday. The group then boarded three waiting buses that drove off about 50 minutes later.

One bus traveled to the Walt Whitman Service Area in Cherry Hill, NJ, just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. After the bus pulled up at around 12:45 a.m. Friday, several teens disembarked, retrieved their bags from the luggage compartment and left with adults who were waiting there to meet them.

The bus left the rest stop around 1:05 a.m. and continued south on the New Jersey Turnpike.

The plane that landed in Westchester flew out of El Paso International Airport in Texas and made a stopover in Jacksonville, Fla., online flight records show.

In October, The Post documented a series of similar flights to reveal how the government was flying migrant teens to suburban New York amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis at the Mexican border.

“The resumption of flights is a big middle finger to hard-working New York taxpayers,” former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino said.

“It’s frustrating. It’s outrageous.”

Astorino, a Republican candidate for governor, also accused Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul of being “complicit in this,” noting that the recently approved state budget allows undocumented immigrants 65 and older to apply for state-funded Medicaid benefits.

“We’ve got high taxes, failing schools, with crime out of control and we’re using taxpayer dollars to aid illegal immigrants,” he said.

Astorino, who has made the migrant flights a key campaign issue, said he believed the border shuttle started up again last month.

DeSantis signed legislation on Thursday that will protect the lives of unborn children by prohibiting the performance of most abortions if the gestational age of a baby is greater than 15 weeks. The measure, which is slated to take effect on July 1, allows exceptions to preserve the life of the mother and avoid significant risk of serious injury — there is also an exception if the unborn child has not yet reached viability and is determined to have a "fatal fetal abnormality."

"Smiling from ear to ear as he rips away the reproductive rights of Floridians. It's cruel and despicable. To anyone seeking abortion care, know that you are welcome in New York," Hochul, a Democrat, tweeted on Thursday.

Then the next day, Hochul posted a message to mark Good Friday: "Today I join Christians throughout New York and around the world in observing #GoodFriday. Let us be reminded that even in challenging times, hope and light always lie ahead."
