It doesn't require intelligence to claim "nonsense" and be right most of the time. Particularly when also free to define the standard of accuracy.
What requires "smarts" is recognizing when something is not nonsense. To see that the court jester is not just to entertain snobs, nor is a fool, but responsible for delivering the common perspective and gripe long before the torches and pitchforks become the Sword of Damocles.
