If you were around in the timeframe that tweet is talking about, you know exactly ehay he's talking about, and where it's headed. Porn (especially today's industry) gets a bad rap for a lot of valid reasons, but it is free speech. The problem is access. Now we live in upside down world where religious conservatives are at the forefront of the (distilled) free speech fight because it finally came down to communism vs freedom on a general (and world wide) scale.
In the long run, it's going to culminate in scores of discussions that will eventually lead to generally, universally accepted norms. That process will be predicated, however, on the left and right maturing in their thought process enough to be able set aside their predilections towards authoritarianism and religious self-righteousness and superstitions, respectively. One thing's for certain, and Elon knows this already, it won't happen without Free Speech being protected and discourse allowed to be.
