…The 'god' were the planets in closer proximity to the Earth, in the ancient skies. Personification of these natural phenomena lead to the perpetuated 'spiritual propaganda' and eventual literal interpretations that plague humanity (in the form of religions) today. It is much more probable that the planets drifted apart, over the course of 1,000's of years, rather than the mental laziness of 'it was God'.
