Anybody know what caused this? Was checking the heliplots (seismographs) and saw this huge signature in the western U.S. High amplitude, low frequency, but very, very powerful.

Many seismographs recorded it, while many others were seemingly unaffected. I've included the caps, locations, and times if someone wants to take at stab at its propagation.

Curiously, China has cut off all access to it's seismographs. Not sure of any connection, but find it odd they don't want anyone to see their locally recorded traces.

There was an M-class x-ray flare in the middle of the event, but some of the seismos were already in motion and since x-rays travel at light speed and it hadn't hit yet when the first ones were rocking makes think something else.

Here's the USGS heliplot billboard for the planet. It has better location information than the codes on the caps.

I'm open to your theory. You saying that a ~25 min ripple of gravity on the sun was shared by the earth at the same time? Interesting, those stations would've been directly under the sun at the time, but so would've S. America and they're closer this time of year. Not much data for S. America, but the one Chilean station looked normal and they've been active of late.
