ANWR? You ever been north of Yellowknife or to Prudhoe Bay? Nothing there but rabbits, occasional caribou and biting black flies. Most of those "northern forests" that look so lush from an airplane are spindly firs no thicker than your calf, and rarely over 20 ft tall. No grass, just lichen. If you don't pack it in, you don't eat much other than fish.

 

NEVER did understand why ANWR was so overblown, since absolutely nobody goes there. One village, Kaktovik, in the whole thing.
