My senior year of High School, 1979, I went to Hawaii with my family to visit my brother who was living there.
We took a bus tour of one of the islands.
On the bus were two men who appeared to be friends. They acted very "normal" in my book.
While sitting on the seat across from them, I noticed that they were both wearing matching rings on their left ring finger, like a wedding ring.
That was the only indication that I had that they were probably a gay couple.
Can we go back to those days?
Not that I approve of homosexuality, but if they have to exist, why can't they just act normal?
These guys didn't bother anyone and no one bothered them.
Everyone just wanted to have fun visiting Hawaii and seeing the sites.
