A former New York police chief and longtime Democrat says he is so disgusted with the contempt members of his party have for cops that he is running for Congress as a Republican.

Former Rochester Police Chief La’Ron Singletary, who is vying to represent the Empire State’s 25th Congressional District, told The Daily Wire he can no longer support the Democrat Party because of its anti-police rhetoric.

“The demonization, the demoralization, and the defunding the police rhetoric from the Democratic Party, coupled with other ideologies the Democratic Party started to take on caused me to leave the party,” said Singletary, 42. “The Democratic Party was no longer the party that I knew it to be, and no longer the party of my parents.”

Echoing the remarks of another lifelong Democrat who left for the GOP, former President Ronald Reagan, Singletary told The Daily Wire he “didn’t leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me.”

“We live in a country that allows us to change political parties if we no longer agree with the party’s beliefs,” he said. “When politicians put politics before people, it’s wrong.”

A high-profile, big-spending Democrat donor, was sentenced to thirty years in a federal prison for his role in distributing illegal drugs that resulted in the deaths of two people. It should be noted that those two deaths were of black men. Black Lives Matter, right?

Ed Buck was found guilty on nine counts of drug-related charges last summer, including distributing methamphetamines that led to the fatal overdoses. As prosecutors revealed, there was a disgusting layer of perversion and manipulation in what amounted to a significantly large operation.

Buck was a well-known contributor within Democrat circles. Over the years, he has funded far-left radicals in California including clueless Representative Ted Lieu, the evil and corrupt governor Gavin Newsom, and even presidential candidates like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. All told, he gave to more than 40 California office holders and has filled DNC coffers to the tune of over $500,000. He was equally prolific in LGBTQ circles.

Several outlets also reported the insidious role of drug distribution entailed a quid pro quo; Buck would provide drugs in return for sexual favors.

What is it with mega-Dem donors and their exchange of sexual services? Ed Buck, while not as household of a name as Jeffrey Epstein, nevertheless operated in a similar word. Both men grew influential, powerful, and wealthy as kingmakers and donors in the corrupt political underworld.

In response to the news, which likely wasn’t a surprise, many of the recipients of Buck’s money publicly distanced themselves from the outed disgrace. The aforementioned Lieu noted that he would be donating nearly $18,000 to charity. Illinois Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi made a similar announcement.

However, not everyone of the scores of beneficiaries of Buck’s illicit gains have been as outspoken. Fox News noted that multiple requests for comments from both the Obama and Clinton teams remain unreturned.

“But former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama remained quiet on the subject in January — and their spokespeople on Wednesday didn’t respond to Fox News’ request for comment on what they would do with their donations from Buck.”
