It also says that local laws may still require masking in rideshare rides. Uber and other rideshare services were required to enforce masking from both customers and riders under a CDC order from January 2021 mandating masks for passengers on all forms of travel. The CDC released an update on April 18 saying that it would no longer enforce mask requirements on transportation, though the agency still recommends them."

Psaki: Agencies are reviewing the next steps, including the Department of Justice…that can take a couple of days.

Psaki: In polls, data, there are still a lot of people in this country that want masks in place. They have immunocompromised relatives, they have kids under five…whatever it may be.
