Good album for a day like today.
Most kids want to feel special, to stand out. Being rewarded for being different, plus the constant media onslaught. It’s normal for kids to play at being the opposite sex or thinking about it but am guessing those normal feelings are being hugely rewarded and pushed and then adopted by the child who has no thought about harm to their futures, or doesn’t want to let a parent down.
