by design
can only imagine how much of that omnibus bill got wasted or ended up in a politician's foundation
how much went to certain companies because there's a certain someone on the board of that company and so on
like all that money that went to PR then CS goes down there partying - just a coincidence i guess
a city will get a grant to rebuild their roads
they'll pave one or two back roads then claim they ran out of money
then all of a sudden the mayor of said city is driving around in a brand new vehicle
they'll do the bare minimum to keep up appearances like they're doing something but it doesn't all get used on the project claimed
rather than just coming up with code to target bots it's just further tracking and internet ID'ing real people
guess you'll have to have a phone too in order to get "verified as a real user"
probably want all your contact info and work history, party affiliation, etc. as well
who needs spying agencies when you convince people to spy on themselves

it's a corporatocracy
mass surveillance on everyone at all times has always been their goal
same old bush era shit with the "you're either with us or you're with the terrorists" shit to justify the surveillance
then the old cliche of "well if you got nothing to hide then why are you worried" - simple, because some of us still value our privacy whether irl or online, doesn't mean i need to be on one side or the other to disagree with being spied on
