Elizondo shot to fame in 2017 after helping leak to the New York Times extraordinary videos from US fighter jets of tic tac-shaped UFOs moving with incredible speed and agility near aircraft carriers off the East and West coasts in 2004 and 2015.
In the Times' report, Elizondo revealed that he left the secretive $22million government program after what he has termed excessive secrecy and internal opposition to the project.
He claims that Reid was under investigation for his treatment of Elizondo, as well as alleged sexual harassment of one of Elizondo's subordinates, and several other sexual misconduct claims.
Reid's role is one of the most senior at the Pentagon, with responsibility for all law enforcement, counterintelligence, and security across the US Army, Navy, and Air Force, covering about 1.2million people.
