Used to say that there was "something in the water" in particular area where born & raised because it wasn't the same in other regions where anon was blessed to have lived (South, Midwest) and known wonderful people who weren't like this. It's a metro suburb of a Communist stronghold big city where literally half of everyone's family has long "dis-owned" and threw them out like yesterday's garbage for whatever trivial squabbles.
This has been happening for many years. Not even Religion or politics-related. They just decided that they didn't "like" them any more. Common denonimator is they are USERS. They take kindness for weakness. If they can't get anything of USE whether $$ or favors: DONE. NO Time.
Daughers, sons, whatever. Even the sons & daughters of the estranged are estranged from them!
(Not even talking divorced folks here. Divorces not even a factor with this group of families.)
After Mockingbird mass entertainment & msm did their job, the materialistic, compulsive "consumerism" (compounded by the phone and amazon addictions) was the nail in the coffin. People are so "disposable" that it's scary - scary because it is immediate family who hurt the most.
Drugs are bad, certainly. Cellphone/fakebook/amazon addictions are just as bad as meth when it comes to how (blood) family is treated. Everything/one is completely disposable now – unless personally very close to God and are blessed to know others as such.
