Yes, they really hate being called groomers. Considering the psychological component to this to me it seems like they live in a world where they can dissociate from their negative deeds ('grooming' or more accurate 'child molestation') by naming it something 'positive' ('tolerant' 'diverse' 'pride' etc.). Another thing I've observed in this, is that they suffer from some form of Schizophrenia. They have the normal, outward persona and an abuser persona. They wear the normal persona in their daily lives, while the abuser persona only is present during the abuse. These persona can be considered as masks, and they are able to switch what mask they wear to fit the situation they are in. This mask isn't just metaphysical but also very real, as per here
Whenever they are doing their rotten deeds, they put on the mask. This helps them to make a clear distinction in their heads that their abuser persona only comes out when they are wearing the mask, offering a safety net that they do not do their rotten deeds when they do not 'wear the mask'.
Lies crumble in the light of Truth. This is why we have to be unrelenting in calling them for what they are. These people thrive in falsehoods and wordgames.
