In the colonies, there were really only a few demographics. Puritans, pacifist quakers, english struggling to remain loyal to the crown or thwarting the rebellion, Anabaptist farmers who didn't see it as their fight. But there was a large population who led the rebellion and died…people who would not accept a boot on their neck because they had lived with the bloodthirsty british boot for so long. Who fomented the revolution and formed the government afterward. They fought in the crippling cold of Valley forge. They piled the bodies of their friends around the flagpole to keep the Star Spangled banner flying upright. They died in both sides in the civil war. These were us. Americans- we have been mocked and laughed at and divided until they have made us forget what we once would have died for….each other.
