Consider the annual rededication prayer "kol nidre." what it actually means - literally - versus what they will tell outsiders it means.
Annually, devout Jews make a vow to their deity that disavows any responsibility to uphold any oaths or vows made during the upcoming year - effectively saying that devout Jews premeditatively planned to break their promises and legal obligations to others; and they believe that their God will forgive their deceit because they have already prayed to their God for forgiveness for all lies attached to any and all oaths and affirmations. This is a religion based upon deceit. There can be nothing holy or healthy emanating from such a religious structure.
