To have "skin in the game" is to have incurred risk (monetary or otherwise) by being involved in achieving a goal.
In the phrase, "skin" refers to an investment (literal or figurative), and "game" is the metaphor for actions on the field of play under discussion.[1] The aphorism is particularly common in business, finance, and gambling, and is also used in politics.[1]

The origin of the phrase is uncertain but may have originated from golf skins games played at IBM in the 1980s.[2]
It has commonly been attributed to Warren Buffett, referring to his own investment in his initial fund.[3] However, William Safire disputes that Buffett is the source of the phrase, pointing to earlier instances.[4]

WASHINGTON — A noticeable change in attitude, pricing and demand was indicated by ingredient processors in early May, signaling a shift from panic buying while sheltering at home by consumers to one of anticipation of reopening away-from-home venues. Some price changes were dramatic, just as when the process began in late March, while others were more subtle, and not all occurred simultaneously, but there was a shift, especially evident in dairy, eggs and meat. But no one is spouting the idea that all will be back to normal any time soon.
-—
The meat situation developed slightly later and still is evolving but was no less dramatic. At one point in April about 40% of US beef and pork processing capacity was offline. The US Department of Agriculture’s beef cutout value — a measure of wholesale prices — more than doubled to a record $475.39 per cwt from April 10 to May 12. The pork cutout value jumped 130% to a high of $120.95 per cwt from April 10 to May 11. Wholesale meat prices have since retreated modestly as processing plants reopen intermittently and restrictions on consumer meat purchases were put in place at retail. Still, wholesale red meat prices are up sharply from a year ago.
The USDA estimated that US April beef production dropped 21% from April 2019, pork outturn was down 11%, broiler processing was down 2% and turkey production was down 8%. That followed record high beef and pork outturn in March.

(Washington, D.C., June 23, 2020) – U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue announced today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farmers to Families Food Box Program has distributed more than 20 million food boxes in support of American farmers and families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Over the past few weeks, the Farmers to Families Food Box Program has continued to pick up steam, getting food in the hands of more and more Americans while providing much needed support to our agricultural sector,” said Secretary Perdue. “This milestone is a testament that the program is accomplishing what we intended – supporting U.S. farmers and distributors and getting food to those who need it most. It’s a real trifecta, which is why we call it a win-win-win.”

Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr von Braun (23 March 1912 – 16 June 1977) was a German-American aerospace engineer[3] and space architect. He was the leading figure in the development of rocket technology in Nazi Germany and a pioneer of rocket and space technology in the United States.[4]
While in his twenties and early thirties, von Braun worked in Nazi Germany's rocket development program. He helped design and co-developed the V-2 rocket at PeenemĂĽnde during World War II. Following the war, he was secretly moved to the United States, along with about 1,600 other German scientists, engineers, and technicians, as part of Operation Paperclip.[5] He worked for the United States Army on an intermediate-range ballistic missile program, and he developed the rockets that launched the United States' first space satellite Explorer 1 in 1958. He worked with Walt Disney on a series of films, which popularized the idea of human space travel in the US and beyond between 1955 and 1957.[6]

Nuclear Thermal Propulsion: Game Changing Technology for Deep Space Exploration

Nuclear Thermal Propulsion (NTP) can help enable detailed exploration of the solar system, be it enhancing operations in cis-lunar space, shaping robust human Mars mission plans or a variety of outer planet space science endeavors.

The first U.S. space-based space fission system to be launched in decades will be a tremendous first step toward the development and utilization of highly advanced space fission systems. Doing so can be analogous to history-making jumps in aviation, from the DC-3 to SR-71.

Today’s advances in materials, testing capabilities, and reactor development are providing impetus for NASA to appraise Nuclear Thermal Propulsion (NTP) as an attractive 21st century option to propel human exploration missions to Mars and other deep space destinations.
Utilizing nuclear technology as an ingredient of NASA’s exploration prowess is not new. NTP research is part of the space agency’s storied history. In 1961, NASA and the former Atomic Energy Commission jointly embarked on the Nuclear Engine for Rocket Vehicle Application (NERVA) program – an effort that over several years led to the design, building, and testing of reactors and rocket engines.
Those programmatic high points spurred then-NASA Marshall Space Flight Center director and rocket pioneer, Wernher von Braun, to advocate for a proposed mission, dispatching a dozen crew members to Mars aboard two rockets. Each rocket would be propelled by three NERVA engines. As detailed by von Braun, that expeditionary crew would launch to the Red Planet in November 1981 and land on that distant world in August 1982. In presenting his visionary plan in August 1969 to a Space Task Group, von Braun explained that "although the undertaking of this mission will be a great national challenge, it represents no greater challenge than the commitment made in 1961 to land a man on the moon."
But shifting priorities, political winds and space budget cutbacks led to curtailment of NASA’s nuclear propulsion work at the end of 1972.

John 14
King James Version
14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
