What's Going On at this High Security Facility at Walt Disney World?

The site is just west of the Magic Kingdom itself, but to the trained eye is much more than a corporate backwater.

 

The site is perimetered by two moats, two perimeter patrol roads, one a soft graded (to see foot tracks) next to fencing within fencing.

 

The site has feedlines from two large powerplants, one of which is a many megawatt huge solar plant to the west. The solar plant distribution lines run directly to this site, not the neighborhoods nearby. Efforts have been taken obscure the HV distribution lines from the conventional powerplant to the east.

 

Inside the high security fences there are a number of structures, virtually all of which have what look like corner-fed HF loop antennas mounted over and around them. These are not average loop antennas, but heavy masted, guyed and supplied by masted feedlines.

 

The roads are cleverly named. Maple Rd. (maypole - a mast w lines) and Maple Loop (maypole loop antennas).

 

These are not just listening antennas, although they would be extremely good and low noise ones. These are designed to transmit and at very high power levels. Very, very high levels.

 

To hams and military signals personnel, the attention to wavelength awareness is obvious at every point. The loop circumferences, heights above ground, location of metal nearby (fences) all have proportionality common to antenna and transmission theory.

 

Rough calculations put the frequencies in the 2.8, 3.8, and 7 MHz range and their harmonics above that. These are not random frequencies. These are very special with special properties that take advantage of the ionosphere directly overhead. The are designed to transmit straight up and bounce the signal straight down over an area of hundreds of miles. Using NVIS (near vertical incident skywave) At the higher harmonics of these frequencies and estimated power levels, signals could essentially be global.

 

So, the question is: What is going on here? Why do they need an array of this size, supplied with power on this scale, and security FAR greater than used around nuclear missile silos?

The western service road is called Dump Rd.. If it's a dump, why is the dump and the road covered in substation gravel (electrical) all the way to the site?

 

Why are the loops geometrically related to the buildings under and around them?

 

Why are the loops supplied with elevated feedlines?

 

What is inside these structures and what purpose(s) do they have?

What is this massive antenna? Appears to be some kind of very tall triangular array based on the mast shadows. Check out the insulators on the two base towers.

Every antenna has it's purpose and from there scale and other things can be derived. Loop antennas of the size pictured are for HF radio comms. 2 way TX towers for walkie talkies which are VHF and UHF look like towers, think cell towers. The design fits the use.

 

HF comms using low loops are for very specific applications utilized by very few outside of hams and military and some ocean going ships and aircraft. The latter two would use higher aerials if possible. These are purpose built for low noise listening and high power NVIS. If their using HF NVIS at this scale, it's not Disney anymore, it's the government.

Anon was Osan AB in the very early 80's when the first A-10's were delivered to Suwon AB. Remember walking home from work late one afternoon when two flew by overhead and low and I didn't even hear them until they had passed me. Of course they could see me for miles. I knew then any tanks and troops in the open were toast.

Thanks…I didn't want to get too technical with radiation patterns etc…but whoever designed that array outside of Disney really knew wtf they were doing. And it def wasn't for walkie talkies…kek

Disney = spoopery. Was trying to find something on corner fed rectangular horizontal loop hf antennas and everything was just pages of calculus. I like the pictures despite have a math heavy graduate degree. I think in 3D…and when I look at that array, it just looks like a menu where depending on the propagation needed, one antenna or suite is better than the rest.

 

Bigger question is why so much effort. A very reliable loop for HF NVIS is frankly cheap and easy. This array is uber uber uber optimized and needs power crazy high. HF can connect with microwatts and I talk all over with 100 watts. Makes you wonder what else those wires are doing?

They could shut down whole sections of bands, or all bands really…curiously the frequencies that line up with the measurements are on or near ham bands…although with impedance matching tuners they could transmit on anything in MF and HF and probably low VHF. The higher frequencies are line of sight and use smaller antennas higher up. This is old school longwave HF stuff.

The kind of money, effort, and security going there tells me they could anything they wanted on any frequencies from DC to daylight. We just see the big wires close to the ground. Their monorail is one giant transformer if you look at it. Large electrififed loops of different size close together. That's a transformer.
