David Bowie, like I am certain so many others of that generation, very likely gave up and gave in to the "winning team" at the end of his life.
He came from an era of "enlightenment" and as is their protocol, he revealed their plans in his lyrics.
I do hope he had some clarity at the end…..
His song, 'Life On Mars' was always so abstract to me; although I did love it.
Lately; having woken up to everything having meaning I had never perceived; I listened to this song again… I remember thinking it was about some random incidents and aliens…. but it wasn't.
It's about fake news.
Some of the lyrics:
She could spit in the eyes of fools
As they ask her to focus on
sailors fighting in the dance hall
Oh man, look at those cave men go
It's the freakiest show
Take a look at the lawmen beating up the wrong guy
Oh man
Wonder if they'll ever know
Their in the best selling show
Is there life on Mars…
