Popular Rep. Madison Cawthorn Accused of ‘Potential’ Insider Trading — But Pelosi Walks Free?

The fangs are out for popular Representative Madison Cawthorn.

First, corrupt Democrats led by Hillary Attorney Marc Elias attempted to remove him from the ballot in North Carolina.

Then the Democrats and/or RINOs released months-old photos of Madison in lingerie on a cruise ship with his wife.

On Tuesday Project on Government Oversight, a far-left watchdog group, argued that Madison Cawthorn should be investigated for insider trading for a photo on Instagram with the Let’s Go Brandon cryptocurrency team at a party. The event took place the night before they publicly launched their cryptocurrency.

But Nancy Pelosi is famous for her family’s deal-making and insider trading and faces no repercussions.

Washington Examiner reported:

Rep. Madison Cawthorn may have violated federal insider trading laws as he hyped up an alleged pump-and-dump cryptocurrency scheme, multiple watchdog groups told the Washington Examiner.

On Dec. 29, the beleaguered North Carolina congressman posed at a party with James Koutoulas, a hedge fund manager and the ringleader of the Let’s Go Brandon cryptocurrency, a meme coin set up in the wake of the chant mocking President Joe Biden.

“LGB legends. … Tomorrow we go to the moon!” Cawthorn, who has stated publicly he owns the cryptocurrency, posted on Instagram in response to the picture posted on Koutoulas’s Instagram page.

The next day, LGBCoin did exactly as the lawmaker predicted.

NASCAR driver Brandon Brown announced on Dec. 30 that the meme coin would be the primary sponsor of his 2022 season, causing LGBCoin’s value to spike by 75%. Brown’s statement featured comments from Koutoulas, who was pictured with Cawthorn just a few hours prior.

Multiple watchdog groups told the Washington Examiner that Cawthorn’s Dec. 29 Instagram post suggests the lawmaker may have had advanced nonpublic knowledge of LGBCoin’s deal with Brown. The watchdogs said the post, combined with Cawthorn’s statement that he owns LGBCoin, warrants an investigation from the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission to determine whether the lawmaker violated federal insider trading laws.

Federal court dismisses all challenges to Texas abortion law's citizen enforcement provision

The court ruled that the law's private enforcement provision cannot be challenged.

The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals dismissed all challenges to the Texas Heartbeat Act's private enforcement provision.

Texas's law bans abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected, which is usually around six weeks of gestation. The law drew legal scrutiny in part due to a novel enforcement mechanism by which private citizens may sue anyone for assisting a woman in getting an abortion, including medical professionals.

The court ruling struck down "all challenges to the private enforcement provisions," according to the ruling, obtained by Fox News.

The bill was signed into law in May.

Democrat senator calls for new laws to 'promote algorithmic justice' over the 'dangerous' influence of Elon Musk and other billionaires

Democrat U.S. Senator Ed Markey of Massachusetts called for new laws to "promote algorithmic justice" after Elon Musk bought Twitter and promised to support free speech on the social media platform.

"Elon Musk and a handful of billionaires now have dangerous influence over the most powerful online platforms. They can't be trusted, and self-regulation has failed," tweeted Markey.

"We must pass laws to protect privacy and promote algorithmic justice for internet users, especially for kids," he added.

The phrase "algorithmic justice" refers to bias that enters into digital platforms because of implicit assumptions in the creators that discriminate against minorities and women. Some lawmakers have already called for laws that would hold tech companies responsible for disparities from algorithmic bias.

Critics of the senator mocked the use of the phrase.

"Laws to 'promote algorithmic justice' for the sake of the children. It’s like a parody but from an actual senator," responded Justin Amash the former member of Congress.

"Washington currently has dangerous influence over the most powerful online platforms. And Washington most certainly can't be trusted. So we should be very worried when they promise to pass laws, especially in the name of 'algorithmic justice,'" replied Kimberley Strassel.

"Democrats take any topic, add a few buzzwords, and act like they’ve created a new civil rights movement," said another critic.

"What is algorithmic justice? This nonsensical term is right up there with tree equity. Also where was this vitriol when ever the opposing side was getting silenced through the algorithm?" read another popular response.

Others used the occasion to make fun of Markey.

"Algorithmic Justice, Tuesdays on CBS," joked Josh Barro.

"'Algorithmic justice' is a lesson to all you activists and matchstick men that politicians will say whatever ridiculous shit you come up with. Can't be too far out. Just go nuts. Really explore the space," read another popular response.

WATCH: Italians Furious As Ukrainian Nazi Sympathizers Incorporated Into Liberation Day Parade

The inclusion of Azov Battalion supporters into this year’s march commemorating the end of fascism in Italy sparked local resistance and international outrage, but little pushback from organizers.

Tensions boiled over in Milan Monday after a contingent of Ukrainian regime supporters–bearing NATO flags and posters with the neo-Nazi emblem of the notorious Azov Batallion–was permitted to participate in the annual Liberation Day march commemorating the defeat of fascism in Italy. Video from a local source shows a group of angry onlookers hurl expletives at the ‘Nazi sympathizers’ and break into a chant:

Ukrainian flags have been a frequent feature of Liberation Day celebrations across Italy this week, in spite of widespread and enthusiastic collaboration by Ukrainian nationalists with the Third Reich which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Jews and Poles.

Many among the procession in Milan were seemingly unaware of the Azov Battalion’s Nazi predilections, reports suggest. And those that did apparently had few qualms about sharing an anti-fascist march with people waving fascist symbols–of which the Azov’s Battalion’s black sun/wolfsangel design is almost exclusively comprised.

Instead, authorities invited Iryna Yarmolenko, a city councilor from Bucha, to deliver a speech in English in which the young politician opened with the words of Italian anti-fascist anthem Bella Ciao.

"I am a partisan as in your song,” she claimed, before accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of having “ruined the most beautiful period of peace there has ever been in Europe.” Another speaker, Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala, reportedly told journalists he favors sending weapons to Ukrainian regime.

The only dissenting voice reportedly came from Maurizio Landini, Secretary General of the Italian General Confederation of Labor, the country’s most powerful trade union. In response to ongoing Russian special operations in Ukraine, Landini said "I do not agree that… the answer is to rearm the whole world.”

“We do not need to spend more money on weapons,” he continued. Italian journal Fivedabliu reports Landini’s insistence that the Italian government “spend on people's health, on creating jobs in defense of the environment” instead was met with cheers from anti-war elements and boos from Ukrainian nationalists.
