Theory:

Musk is a "hostage" of the white hats and is executing this Twitter takeover on their behalf.

Why? He is compromised by the missile tech provided to other foreign adversaries (in exchange for gov subsidies?)

Therefore, once white hats took control and put "the plan" in motion, Musk was told to comply or face the music in NK/Iran, etc.
