>I really hate this damn router…

chech out MikroTik RouterBOARD's

rb750gr3 highly recommended router you can pick up ~$60

capable of routing up to 1gbps upstream and downstream concurrently

pretty robust little unit for the money

mine has been flashed with OpenWRT (3rd party firmware) but the stock 'RouterOS' is incredibly configurable

its pretty close to commercial grade routing

I am heavily leaning towards this column of logic

like

the device usage dispertion has to be fairly stark

nearly 99% apple device usage by DS and libtards alike?

uhhh why?

I dont get it

Hillary is a tard

the angels have not seen anyone like Madeleine before and there is a special place in hell for the angels if they do not support her

what the fuck is she saying?

the angels have never seen anyone as GOOD as Madeleine?

and if the angels dont recognize that Madeleine is better than them, then they will go to hell?

like

what in the actual fuck is this gibberish wordsalad spellcrafting fuckery actually saying?

nothing at all, like usual?

>Would I be able to set this up to actually replace my ISP provided modem/router shit-box and save myself $10/month?

absolutely should be able too

you might have to call the ISP to give them the MAC address of your new router so they can whitelist it on their network

but most large isp's dont require that

they are only looking at their endpoint modem (you exterior to the house network interface where the 2 channel ADSL bonding occurs)

>gov't devices all apple

ohhh shit

I just realized something

anons father works at major aircraft equipment supplier (think 80% of the in-flight entertainment equipment market for ALL passenger aircraft)

anons family is 100% android/winblows/linux/intel

basically

fuck Apple

father anon has to get a new phone at work because of Mil contracts (space force)

father anon is PISSED becuase he MUST get an Apple iPhone to replace is work Samsung Galaxy

they say 100% only iPhones allowed now because of Mil contract and "new" security measures

-side note, HUGE AMOUNTS of space force money floating around since 45 made it public

-second side note, last launch for the space force to test equipment re: Mil contracts was done on one of Musks rockets, to further confirm he IS the largest DoD contractor

I dont have any sauce to provide

and should probably not have posted this anyway

>since it's PPPoE, I'd need the username and p/w

yes

>I'd still need a compatible modem, yes?

the "line to network interface outside house is ADSL2+"

is this line an ethernet cable, a phone line, a coax cable?

if its ethernet, then no, you ditch the shit-box and plug the ethernet cable coming from outside into the WAN port on the rb750gr3

if its phone line/ coax, then yes, you would need a modem to convert that to ethernet

>From wall to DSL labeled port on shit-box is phone-line sized plug.

in that case

best option for you to "go around" the shitbox is to put it in transparent bridge/ bridged mode

that should turn off ALL DNS/DHCP/NATing on the shitbox and it would directly pass the WAN IP from your ISP through from its DSL port to its ethernet port(s)

You connect one of the LAN ports on the shitbox to the WAN port on your new 'better' router (in this case the MikroTik if you get one)

If your shitbox has an "actual" bridged mode, that is going to be your winning ticket

if it doesnt

then next best option is to connect the equipment exactly as I have described above

except, make sure you new "better" router is using a different IP address subnet than the shitbox

I.E.

if the shitbox is using 192.168.1.1

new router should use 192.168.0.1

or 192.168.2.1

or 192.168.52.1

or 10.10.10.1

literally any other private subnet that ISNT the one your shitbox uses

then

place the new "better" routers IP address in the shitboxes "DMZ"

it will be under firewall options somewhere most likely

by placing the new router in the shitboxes DMZ, the shitbox will pass ALL traffic directly through to the new router without applying any firewall/ routing rules

this is not as smooth as going fully bridged on the shitbox

but it will work

all options from there get even gayer

requiring more initial configuration/

and having more potential for "falling apart" if the configuration breaks itself

good luck :D

will answer anything else you have to ask

>DSL labeled port on shit-box

you could find yourself a router with integrated VDSL modem and thusly ditch the ISP provided shitbox

but I am not as familiar with routers/ modem combo's to give you and off the top of my head suggestion
