2-RNWL flew from near Bartlesville (Kansas / Oklahoma border) to Maine, then on to Reykjavik. Currently on a vector towards the Faroe Islands on the way to the UK.
Not sure if relevant, but is space related. Black Knight was also a rocket programme that the British did in the late '50s./ early '60s. They were launched from Woomera in Australia.

2-MSTG headed back to the UK. Currently over SW Germany.
'Space' is a movable feast. In the 1950s, the beginning of 'Space' was 50,000ft. now it's more liver over 70,000ft. The only planes that I'm aware of that got near 'Space' without actually being in it were the X-15s. The pilots of these were deemed to have qualified for astronaut wings.
