28 candidates for office in Michigan get petition signatures challenged (aka Michigan Democrat Gov. starts election fuggery)

Seven Republicans, two Democrats and 19 nonpartisan candidates have seen their petition signatures for election to public office in 2022 being formally challenged to the state.
The Michigan Department of State received 28 challenges before the Tuesday, April 26, deadline, per a spokesperson. The Board of State Canvassers has until May 31 to review the petitions to see if there are enough invalid ones to disqualify any candidates.
The list of 28 includes three candidates for governor and six candidates for U.S. representative. The others are judicial candidates.
