As for India, they seem to be playing global politics now.
Modi got on with Trump, but obviously perceives Biden as a chump.
But historically, India sorta kinda allied itself with the USSR.
But that was mainly to "get more goodies".
China and the USSR were at odds mostly in the Cold War, so India sorta allied with the Soviets as a hedge against China and to gain concessions from the US.
Basically what India's leaders do has JACKSHIT to do with any deep assessment of the underlying situation in Ukraine.
I'd bet that most normal people in the world think that when one CORRUPT country invades another CORRUPT country, the invader is not looking out for anyone but himself.
"Leaders" divide the spoils win or lose and normal people get screwed.
I suspect that the vast majority of normal people in China and India and the "Global South" (what a moronic term) get that.
