Back when I was a kid in the 60's-70's I saw glass jars containing cocaine on the cabinet at the dentists office. I had to have an oral injection twice and both times the dentist wet the tip of his gloved finger, dipped it in the cocaine the rubbed it on my gums where the injections were given. I hated that shit because of the taste. Later in my misspent high school days I did cocaine on occasion and instantly recognized that taste. I'd say the glass jar at the dentists office held about a quart and by my high school days, seeing the jar on the cabinet was a thing of the past.

An EENT doc used cocaine to numb my fathers sinuses and trachea for a procedure in 2017. It's still used but I have no idea how much.
