Kemp can't let Perdue get the primary (because Trump has perdue on a very, very short leash; and it'll destroy the R's in GA because it's a corrupt shit hole). Nobody on the "R" side will pull a "D" move and kick Abrams to the curb by writing in someone else (because R's play by the rules, and white flight is real), en masse, for the "D" party. It'll be Kemp v Abrams, and Kemp will limp dick his way through debates and his TV ads will be underwhelming. Abrams will get it, and then the entire country will be grabbing their dicks, yelling "SHIET", as they suddenly panic at the prospect of this happening everywhere else in the country that has open primaries.

Unfortunately, GA utilizes an open primary system, in which registered voters do not have to be members of a party to vote in that party’s primary.
