You’re right. The problem is they don’t have to be brilliant. They just have to keep duping the same dumb, gullible people every election and that’s exactly what they do. It has worked for decades now, maybe even centuries.
I just recall thinking how odd it was that he predicted a very specific date, as if victory were a foregone conclusion and, beyond the shadow of a doubt, would culminate on that specific date.
