I is also a huge welfare scam for any nation we are in. One statistic they told us in West Germany in the 90's was we (US service members and families) were 4% of the population, our money supported 12% of the German economy and we caused 14% of the accidents on their roads.
I could throw a racial component disclaimer on the accident rate thing but I won't.
It wasn't a bad gig. I lived like a king on poverty level wages in the states. My $1400.00 a month went a long way and I learned how to trade money at Mcdonalds and made quite a bit that way. Nothing like they guys who were there in the 60' and 70's though.
