Personal Life & Family Background :
Josh Gerstein was born on June 20, 1970, in Weston, Massachusetts, to parents Barbara (mother) and Dr Joseph Gerstein (father). His mother worked as a nurse, and his father was the medical director of the Tufts Health Plan.
Both Josh’s parents worked for Smart Recovery, helping people suffering the consequences of drug and alcohol addiction.
Josh graduated magna-cum-laude from the prestigious Harvard University, achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Government.
Married Life & Children :
While at Harvard, Josh met the woman who would become his wife, June Shih.
The couple got married on August 3rd, 2003, at River Farm in Alexandria, Virginia, which is set along the Potomac River. The venue is also the headquarters of the American Horticultural Society.
The wedding was officiated by theHumanist chaplain of Harvard Universityin function at the time, Thomas Ferrick.
Josh and June lived in San Francisco, California, but they relocated to Alexandria, Virginia, when Josh started his job at Politico.
Alexandria is also where June grew up.
Their family now also includes their two daughters.
