"Two women who say they were forced into prostitution provided information that led Dallas police and Homeland Security to raid three locations last week and arrest two women.
Lt. Lisette Rivera, with the Dallas Police Department's Vice Unit, said Monday they "received outcries from two brave victims who said they had been forced into prostitution."
Rivera said the information provided by the victims led to search warrants being served at three places including one location where five women were found.
"As a result of the search warrants, five females were encountered in the main target location which was at an apartment complex at 5900 of Arapaho Road. Interviews were conducted and one additional victim came forward," Rivera said. "Assistance is being provided to the females that were encountered."
Rivera told NBC 5 that none of the five women found in the apartment were involved in any criminal activity and that the two suspects were arrested at a different location than the apartment on Arapaho.
Monday afternoon Dallas police identified the two people arrested as 38-year-old Arely Lopez-Guzman and 38-year-old Fabiola Cardenas."
