The "Syriac" or Assyrian nun shown there is really two nuns attached together (first pic).
This is how they should really be written - (2nd pic). The first one (the one on the right) is used in the middle of a word, the second one (on the left, Assyrian is written right to left) is used only at the end of a word. There are just two styles of writing it.
