Sociopath = Psychopath. Not all that long the psychopath shrinks decided that the part of the word psychopath: psycho wasn't good. So they got together to come up with something that sounded better. One said how about social, socialpath. They finally settled on socio, so sociopath it became and into the lexicon it went.
