Does the OT book of Jeremiah prophesy the fall of the USA?
Who is Jeremiah’s “Babylon” from His Prophecy?
Looking back through history up to the present time, is there a nation on earth
that simultaneously resembles ALL NINE of these characteristics (Jeremiah 50 & 51):

Which nation would be considered the ‘hammer of the earth’?

Which nation would be known for being a ‘destroying’ nation?

Which nation would be considered the ‘last’ of the nations?

Which nation has a heritage of being ‘proud’?

Which nation is known for being a ‘land of images’?

Which nation is known for being ‘rich’ in treasure?

Which nation dwells by many ‘bodies of water’?

Which nation used to be ‘right’ with God?

Which nation is considered the ‘praise of all the earth’?
Is there ONE nation that is a “Yes” to all of these? Yes – the USA is, the Vatican is not…
Jeremiah 50 & 51 describe the nation of Babylon being ‘destroyed’. Many biblical scholars hold this prophecy came true at the time from the account of Daniel 5 where the Medes invaded and destroyed Babylon 2,500 years ago.
However, there are many other clues found in these two chapters that point to future nation, the “Last of the Nations” that will be the recipient of these prophetic events.
Jeremiah 50:12: Your mother shall be utterly shamed, and she who bore you shall be disgraced. Behold, she [Babylon] shall be the last of the nations
[How can this be ancient Babylon or the Vatican, which is a city, not a nation?]
These verses in Jeremiah point to the USA as representing Babylon in a future sense:
Jeremiah 50:23: How the hammer of the whole earth is cut down and broken!
[The USA has been the Hammer of the earth with its superpower military]
Jeremiah 50:31: Behold, I am against you, O proud one, declares the Lord GOD of hosts
[Who is the proudest of modern nations? – The USA]
Jeremiah 50:38: For it is a land of images, and they are mad over idols.
[Is there any other nation that produces more images? Hollywood – motion pictures and TV; American Idol]
Jeremiah 51:7: Babylon was a golden cup in the Lord's hand,
[USA used to be in good standing w/ God, was ancient Babylon ever walking with the Lord]
Jeremiah 50:13: O you who dwell by many waters, rich in treasures, your end has come;
[USA dwells by many waters w/ five large bodies of water around it and is richest nation on the planet – Ancient Babylon was landlocked]
The Oceans Surrounding the USA – Dwells by Many Waters
Jeremiah 50:25: Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, declares the Lord
[The USA has the most powerful military on earth]
Jeremiah 50:41: ''How Babylon is taken, the praise of the whole earth seized! How Babylon has
become a horror among the nations!''
[Is the USA the praise of the whole earth? YES]
Jeremiah 50:47: Therefore, behold, the days are coming when I will punish the images of Babylon
[What nation sends more images around the world? USA]
Conclusion: Reviewing the characteristics of Babylon from Jeremiah 50 & 51, it’s clear that ancient Babylon is NOT being described here. The USA fits every one of the clues given to us in these two chapters. Therefore the USA is “The Babylon” being described. Therefore:
Jeremiah 50:3 : For out of the north [Russia] a nation has come up against her [Babylon - USA] which shall make her land a desolation, and none shall dwell in it; both man and beast shall flee away.
Jeremiah 50:13 : ''Because of the wrath of the LORD she shall not be inhabited but shall be an utter desolation; everyone who passes by Babylon shall be appalled, and hiss because of all her
wounds.''
Jeremiah 50:42: The sea has come up on Babylon; she is covered with its tumultuous waves.
Jeremiah 51:55: For the Lord is laying Babylon waste and stilling her mighty voice. Their waves roar like many waters; the noise of their voice is raised, (56) for a destroyer [Planet
X] has come upon her.
Conclusion –the USA is clearly identified as the future “Babylon” that Jeremiah prophesied about in chapters 50 & 51.
The Vatican has no “images” to speak of and no military and has no bodies of water surrounding it and surely is not the ‘last’ of the nations.
Therefore the USA is “Babylon” and will become an ‘utter desolation’
