Four members of a group said to be a Japanese version of QAnon, which has frequently protested against COVID-19 vaccinations, were arrested on Thursday for intruding on a clinic where vaccinations were taking place, media reports said.
Four members of "YamatoQ," a version of the U.S. QAnon group, were arrested on charges they intruded into a Tokyo clinic, police were quoted by media as saying.
Police declined to confirm the reports, but a man saying he was the leader of "YamatoQ" posted a video statement on his YouTube channel in which he said police actions were "completely illegal."
"We were just there at the clinic, asking to be shown the components of the vaccine, which has not been tested," the man said. "Then the police came in and took four people away."
The group is one of several Japanese offshoots of QAnon, a conspiracist group born in the United States that posited that former President Donald Trump was fighting a secret global cabal of sex traffickers.

Leader of QAnon's Japan branch arrested for obstructing COVID vaccinations for kids
A man who claims to be one of the leaders of the Japanese arm of U.S. conspiracy cult QAnon was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of forcing his way earlier this month into a venue offering coronavirus vaccinations for children in Tokyo, police said.
The arrest of Hiroyuki Kuraoka, 43, is the latest in a string of arrests involving people believed to be members of the YamatoQ group, which is strongly opposed to COVID-19 vaccinations.
Kuraoka was arrested on suspicion of trespassing after he forcibly entered a medical clinic in the capital's Shibuya Ward used as a vaccination site for children for more than an hour from around 9:30 a.m. on April 7.
The Tokyo police did not disclose whether Kuraoka has admitted to the charge.
On that day, roughly 10 YamatoQ members, including Kuraoka, barged into the clinic, shouting, "Vaccination is a crime" and demanding to talk to the clinic's director, according to the police.
Four people believed to be members of the group were arrested on the spot on April 7.
The group has been waging a campaign against COVID inoculations in various parts of Japan, holding rallies and saying the coronavirus does not exist. In March, they disrupted vaccinations in sites including Tokyo Dome.
The group alleges it is unlawful to administer shots to children when vaccines are still under clinical trial.
They are also protesting what they say is a lack of transparency about the composition of coronavirus vaccines and what they allege are their dangers.
YamatoQ says on its website that it is the Japanese wing of QAnon, a movement spreading internet conspiracy theories in support of former U.S. President Donald Trump. The movement is said to have gained followers in many countries.

Bennett claimed that during a phone conversation with Putin, the Russian leader had offered an apology over Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s claim that Adolf Hitler possibly had “Jewish blood.”
Hours later the Kremlin issued a statement that included the full content of the conversation, making no mention of an apology.
Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov also commented on this, saying that the conversation that took place between the two leaders was “exactly as disclosed” in the official statement.

Fijian law enforcement executed a seizure warrant freezing the Motor Yacht Amadea (the Amadea), a 348-foot luxury vessel owned by sanctioned Russian oligarch Suleiman Kerimov. Fijian law enforcement, with the support and assistance of the FBI, acted pursuant to a mutual legal assistance request from the U.S. Department of Justice following issuance of a seizure warrant from the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, which found that the Amadea is subject to forfeiture based on probable cause of violations of U.S. law, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), money laundering and conspiracy.
The U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control designated Kerimov as part of a group of Russian oligarchs who profit from the Russian government through corruption and its malign activity around the globe, including the occupation of Crimea. In sanctioning Kerimov, the Treasury Department also cited Kerimov as an official of the Government of the Russian Federation and a member of the Russian Federation Counsel.
According to court documents, Kerimov owned the Amadea after his designation. Additionally, Kerimov and those acting on his behalf and for his benefit caused U.S. dollar transactions to be routed through U.S. financial institutions for the support and maintenance of the Amadea.
“This ruling should make clear that there is no hiding place for the assets of individuals who violate U.S. laws. And there is no hiding place for the assets of criminals who enable the Russian regime,” said Attorney General Merrick B. Garland. “The Justice Department will be relentless in our efforts to hold accountable those who facilitate the death and destruction we are witnessing in Ukraine.”
“Last month, I warned that the department had its eyes on every yacht purchased with dirty money,” said Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco. “This yacht seizure should tell every corrupt Russian oligarch that they cannot hide – not even in the remotest part of the world. The seizure was coordinated through the Justice Department’s Task Force KleptoCapture, an interagency law enforcement task force dedicated to enforcing the sweeping sanctions, export controls, and economic countermeasures that the United States, along with its foreign allies and partners, has imposed in response to Russia’s unprovoked military invasion of Ukraine. Announced by the Attorney General on March 2 and run out of the Office of the Deputy Attorney General, the task force will continue to leverage all of the department’s tools and authorities to combat efforts to evade or undermine the collective actions taken by the U.S. government in response to Russian military aggression.

Trial Attorney Andrew D. Beaty of the National Security Division’s Counterintelligence and Export Control Section and Trial Attorney Joshua L. Sohn of the Criminal Division’s Money Laundering and Asset Recovery Section are handling the seizure. The Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Marshals Service provided significant assistance.
