Republican stumps Elizabeth Warren over single question about fairness of student loan cancelation: 'Where do I sign up for reimbursement?'

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) stole a play from "Dodgeball" on Friday — dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge — when a Republican guest co-host on "The View" confronted her about student loan cancelation.

What happened?

Because Warren advocates for mass student loan cancelation, Republican Lindsey Granger asked Warren how she plans to reimburse Americans who paid off their student loans.

The question exposed what critics of student loan forgiveness say is the innate unfairness of canceling student loans.

"What do you say to someone like me who worked two jobs for a decade to pay all their student loans — just finished. Where do I sign up for reimbursement?" Granger asked.

Warren, however, completely deflected from answering the question, and instead presented her talking points for why she believes student loan cancelation is necessary.

"So let's start out with who has student loans today. About 40% of folks with student loans don't have a college diploma," Warren began. "They're folks who tried and life happened … and now they earn what a high school grad earns, and they're trying to pay off college-level debt, and it is crushing their bones.

"Keep in mind that of those that have student loan debt more than half have negative wealth— they don't have any wealth. You know that right now there are tens of thousands of people who are living on Social Security, who are having their Social Security checks garnished to pay student loans," she continued. "And so this for me is a question of fairness."

Warren then repeated her misleading claim that she only spent $50 per semester going to the University of Houston (The school's newspaper notes that Warren probably paid at least double what she claims).

"There was a time in America when we invested in our public colleges and universities, that's how I could go to a college that cost $50 a semester paid for on two part-time jobs. But today that option is not out there for our young people," Warren said. "So this is about saying: Look, it's tough, we understand that. We want to invest in you. We want to invest in your getting an education."

At no point did Warren answer Granger's question. After her response ended, the panel immediately shifted the topic to the fallout over the potential overturn of Roe v. Wade.

LA High School Promotes Abortion Resources to Students, Parent Permission ‘Not Required’

Van Nuys High School, part of the Los Angeles Unified School District, promoted an organization on their website that provides abortion resources to teens, even pointing out that students don’t need parental permission for the lethal procedure.

The organization, called Sex, Etc, is listed on the Van Nuys High School LGBTQ Resources page, along with other far-left organizations like GLSEN. Sex, Etc. is listed under the “K-12 Educational Resources” section. The site has an “Action Center” portion of their website with an interactive map of the United States.

Under California law, the site explains that “Teens are not required to ask their parent or guardian for permission for an abortion.” The school-endorsed site continues, even providing the phone number of the National Abortion Federation Hotline for teenagers who require financial assistance for an abortion.

The site also provides a phone number that students can call to find the nearest Planned Parenthood. Sex, Etc, ever warns against crisis pregnancy centers, remarking that these clinics “want to discourage you from getting an abortion.” It continues, claiming “they are often set up near clinics and Planned Parenthood locations to confuse patients to accidentally enter the CPC instead.”

This material is specifically promoted to teenagers by both the school and the organization itself, with their site bearing the slogan “by teens, for teens.” Several of the organization’s blog posts also highlight abortion as an option for teens.

Sex, Etc. is a project of Rutgers University and is approved by the Sexual Health Review Board. One board member is Louise Marchena, who worked for Planned Parenthood for nearly 15 years. Marchena was the Senior Director of Youth Programs for the New York branch of Planned Parenthood from 2015-2019.

The Los Angeles Unified School District has partnered with Planned Parenthood since 2019, which it refers to as one of its “Student Wellbeing Centers.” Dr. Maya Angelou Community High School, another school in the LAUSD, links to Planned Parenthood directly on its Student/Family Resources page.

Van Nuys High School Principal Lourdes De-Santiago Ramirez did not immediately return a request for comment.

UPenn, Sponsor of Biden’s Think Tank, Profits From Vaccines And Had Staff Shakeup Over Foreign Money Including ‘CHINA’ Money

Staff Shakeup At UPenn Occurred As Staff Questioned Where The China And Other Foreign Money Was Going

University of Pennsylvania financial documents obtained by NATIONAL FILE show that the UPenn fund that bankrolls Joe Biden’s think tank the Penn Biden Center makes money in “milestone payments” from the sale of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines and from FDA approvals of the injections. The University of Pennsylvania, which paid Joe Biden prior to his presidential run, was accepting big money from donors apparently to carve out spaces for foreign students at UPenn including from Communist China, and NATIONAL FILE can confirm that internal controversy and a staff shakeup occurred when staff questioned how international funds were being spent. With Joe Biden able to return to the Penn Biden Center after his presidency, Biden puts himself in a position to personally profit from the vaccines he is pushing. Pfizer-BioNTech is trying to get a new authorization for a child booster for 5 to 11 year olds.

Under the watch of UPenn president Amy Gutmann, massive amounts of money have flowed into the university’s funds apparently to import students from around the world including from Communist China and the “People’s Republic of China” with administrator notes including “MAKE SURE STUDENT IS FROM CHINA…” Amy Gutmann, the UPenn president who oversaw the establishment of Joe Biden’s think tank the Penn Biden Center in 2018, is now Biden’s Ambassador to Germany. There were arguments in the UPenn administration about where the Chinese-oriented money and other foreign money was going. Some insiders questioned how funds for international students were being managed without transparency, and the arguments led to a staff overhaul. The controversy stemmed from funds set aside for international students.

UPenn’s China links are numerous, as evidenced by its Center for the Study of Contemporary China and the Penn Wharton China Center. In 2019, UPenn’s foreign donations spiked approximately 389 percent.

Texas A&M team doctor charged with sexually assaulting 2 patients

A former Texas A&M team physician has been accused of sexually assaulting two female patients, after plying them with alcohol during medical treatments.

Dr. Kory Lee Gill, 44, was arrested Wednesday on two counts of sexual assault stemming from two separate incidents that took place in the spring and fall of 2021.

According to a university rep, neither one of the alleged victims was a student at A&M.

Texas A&M officials said that Gill was fired from his job as director of the Primary Care and Sports Medicine Fellowship Program in February 2022, following a Title IX investigation that was sparked by allegations of wrongdoing, reported KBTX. He had worked at the university since 2009.

KPRC reported that Gill has been accused of sexually assaulting a colleague and another woman with no ties to the university.

A graduate of Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, Gill specializes in sports medicine and served as an assistant professor of Family & Community Medicine at Texas A&M College of Medicine, where he had completed his residency in 2008.

The investigation into Gill began unfolding in the first weeks of 2022, when a woman went to the Bryan Police Department, saying that the physician sexually assaulted her in November 2021, after offering her whiskey that caused her to black out, according to a probable cause statement cited by KBTX.

The woman said she first met Gill at a clinic on A&M’s campus and complained to him of hip pain. He offered to help her for free, and the first three treatments took place in front of residents as part of their training, the court filing alleged.

The fourth appointment occurred at a private clinic, according to sources familiar with the case.

On that occasion in November of last year, the patient claimed that Gill was drinking whiskey and offered her a sip, which immediately made her feel “buzzed.”

The woman said she accepted a second drink from Gill because the treatment was painful and he warned her that it would hurt, according to the documents.

The patient claimed she was sexually assaulted by Gill during the treatment and then lost consciousness. She told police she later woke up at her house but could not remember how she got there.

When the patient later reached out to Gill to confront him about the alleged assault, she said he apologized to her, the filing alleged.

Not long after the first case came to light, a second woman contacted the police, claiming that she was sexually assaulted by Gill during a medical appointment.

The patient reportedly said that in April 2021, Gill offered her an alcoholic beverage while treating her exercise-related back injury for free, and then allegedly sexually assaulted her.

Gill was released from jail Wednesday after posting $60,000 bond. A law firm representing him said in a statement that the doctor “is presumed innocent under the law,” and that his legal team plans to fight the allegations against him “and clear his name in court.”

‘Explosive device’ found at Russian journalist compound in Berlin – media

Earlier, an unknown assailant reportedly smashed the window of a building

A suspicious package was found at a Berlin compound housing journalists with Russia’s RIA Novosti late on Friday. The editor-in-chief of the media group, Margarita Simonyan, said the package turned out to be an explosive device, citing German police.

“The Berlin police confirmed that an explosive device was planted in the house where our journalists live,” she said in a social media post.

RIA Novosti’s reporters said a loud “bang” was heard outside the compound as police sappers were working at the scene. It was not immediately clear whether the device went off or was destroyed by the police in a controlled explosion.

Footage from the scene shows a heavy police presence at the scene, with sappers donning heavy protective gear seen near the compound. The Berlin police has remained tight-lipped on the incident, only telling the local media that the officers had carried out an “investigation” at the site.

The device, which appeared to be a jerry can wrapped in duct tape with visible wires protruding out of it, was found at the building earlier in the day. The suspicious object was discovered when the building was checked after an unknown assailant attacked the compound, smashing a window with a bottle. The suspicious jerry can was concealed in a niche in the building’s façade.
