A perspective on the subject of abortion rights

Freedom of Choice

Note:

Using the term "woman" seemed more to describe

a matured, complete, and certain person.

Somehow it didn't fit the discussion about abortion.

To be sexually active recklessly does not fit the term "mature."

Cultural changes have pushed society into this state.

This recklessness is OUT OF ORDER with our natures.

Human beings like to mate…

to have a special and particular person to share our lives with.

We tend to be jealous of losing that special someone we love.

Sexual recklessness works to the opposite of this nature.

And so… we are having to address issues

that are really an aberration of our nature.

For the most part, if a woman follows the path of nature

by nursing her children to two and even three years old

nature handles her birth control.

Hormones do not activate while she is nursing.

She does not produce eggs while she is nursing.

Preparing bottles of substitute milk… is the aberration.

Halting nursing… can be a choice to have another child.

A woman who has talents and wants to choose a career path

can adjust her desires to her reality…

like anyone else… her capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses

must be a part of her choices.

No woman should be forced to have children

either by social norms or by her own husband.

These discussions should occur in the process of maturing as a person.

XXXXXX Choices XXXXXX

Choice: Woman (or girl) chooses to be sexually active w/o precautions

There are many options available to her.

It is at THIS point in her life that she should consult

with her mother, her doctor, her minister, and her own long term future.

Pregnancy is not the only concern when sexually active.

STD's (sexually transmitted diseases) are common.

Condoms provide the most protection against transmittable disease

If she chooses to NOT take precautions

she exposes herself to the risk of pregnancy AND disease.

To forego this choice-making process means she forfeits future choices.

To forego this process… means she chooses "irresponsibility."

She has forfeited some FUTURE choices about her own life.

Choice: A man and a woman choose to have unprotected sex.

They make a choice to act recklessly

and without a regard for the consequences.

Their discussion of risks should be had

BEFORE the choice to have sex.

Even with birth control precautions… there remain risks.

To use abortion as a "first choice" birth control tactic

is to disregard the seriousness of the abortion choice.

Choice: unintended pregnancy, choose to terminate or not

A woman knows in a month that she is possibly pregnant.

There is a pill she can take ASAP to quickly terminate.

She can address this situation or CHOOSE to NOT address it.

Choice: 3rd month and fetus approaches full unfolding

The woman can have an ultrasound to ensure the fetus is healthy.

At this 3rd month, she has already made the choice to KEEP the pregnancy.

Now she has a final choice… Is the fetus healthy.

If it appears that the fetus is grossly malformed or

damaged to the extent that it will have a life of suffering

(sometimes a tragic fault of the mother)

the mother can make this FINAL choice.

To terminate or to not terminate as the fetus establishes viability.

After this, the fetus looks and functions… as a small child.

If the developing child becomes damaged

and a doctor can provide evidence to a medical board

then a decision can be made BASED ON MEDICAL PROBLEMS.

THESE ARE ALL CHOICES.

So… if we allow this to be otherwise

will we have to address the selling of fetuses to the black market?

Will there be a baby market? Isn't there one NOW?

So ladies… if you truly have respect for your own body…

you do have choices.

Society must also have a choice…

whether it is abhorrent to accommodate reckless behaviors

or whether degradation of respect for human life is acceptable.

Society is making a choice that these things aren't acceptable.

Abortion shouldn't be considered a casual method of birth control.
