Geoffrey Portway Basement: Would-Be Cannibal’s Torture Dungeon Revealed (DISTURBING PHOTOS)

Documents including disturbing photos of a dungeon built by a man who planned to torture and eat children were filed by federal prosecutors Tuesday.
Prosecutors said Portway, a British-born Massachusetts man, constructed a basement torture room and regularly chatted online about raping, killing, cooking and eating children. Although it was never used, the photos of the homemade torture dungeon are chilling.
The images, taken by investigators in his Worcester, Mass., home in 2012, show a restraint table, a child-sized coffin, a steel cage and various butcher’s tools.

From a local arrest, an international trail
July 29, 2012
Peter Manning and Gregory Squire, federal agents working out of Boston, are heading an investigation into child pornography that so far has resulted in at least 40 arrests around the world and the discovery of 140 children who were sexually exploited. It began with a single photo sent by a Milford man.

Vast international child-porn network uncovered
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Saturday, August 4, 2012, 2:49 PM
The men came from different walks of life on two continents: a children’s puppeteer in Florida, a hotel manager in Massachusetts, an emergency medical technician in Kansas, a day care worker in the Netherlands. In all, 43 men have been arrested over the past two years in a horrific, far-flung child porn network that unraveled like a sweater with a single loose thread.
In this case, the thread was a stuffed toy bunny.
The bunny, seen in a photo of a half-naked, distraught 18-month-old boy, was used to painstakingly trace a molester to Amsterdam. From there, investigators made one arrest after another of men accused of sexually abusing children, exchanging explicit photos of the attacks and even chatting online about abducting, cooking and eating youngsters.
Authorities have identified more than 140 young victims so far and say there is no end in sight as they pore through hundreds of thousands of images found on the suspects’ computers. They are also trying to determine whether the men who talked about murder and cannibalism actually committed such acts or were just sharing twisted fantasies.

Dutch Say A Sex Ring Used Infants On Internet
By MARLISE SIMONS
Published: July 19, 1998
In a case that investigators called nauseating, the Dutch police say they have discovered a ring of traders in child pornography whose images of abuse of even babies and infants were peddled via the Internet and other media to clients in Europe, Russia and the United States.
The newly discovered ring operated from a small Dutch town, Zandvoort, and from Berlin, the police said, explaining that they had known of it for about a month.
The police said they had also found voluminous records of what appear to be clients and suppliers from countries including Israel, Ukraine, Britain, Russia and the United States. They say they believe that some of the photographed children are from Eastern Europe, while some of the short films were made on the Portuguese island of Madeira.
Investigators said they found the material in June, in an apartment whose owner had been found dead in Italy. The man, a 49-year-old German, owned a computer store in the Dutch city of Haarlem. The police, notified by his relatives, searched his apartment, where they found computers and disks.
But it was not until a week later that they realized what kind of business the man had run. Burglars breaking into the apartment proved to be his collaborators trying to safeguard the material.
