Earl Nightingale was an American radio speaker and author, dealing mostly with the subjects of human character development, motivation, inspiration, and meaningful existence. He was also the voice during the early 1950s of Sky King, the hero of a radio adventure series, and was a WGN radio program host from 1950 to 1956. "The Strangest Secret" was originally released in 1956 as a spoken word record. It sold over one million copies, helping launch the fields of business motivation and audio publishing. The Nightingale-Conant Corporation, formed with his friend Lloyd Conant, beecame a leader in the nascent field.
