assuming, for the sake of argument that the film is legit (doubtful), the ability to accelerate "like that" is NOT the issue. NO LIVING THING inside a craft that underwent that acceleration could survive. they would be a blob of jelly packed into the rear of the ship. extreme accelerations are only useful for the occupants if the craft can generate its own internal inertial field, ie, gravity propulsion. whatever tech is used to generate the gravity inertial bubble is of secondary importance.
