The Satanic Temple joined Democrats in their battle against the Supreme Court’s ruling on Roe v. Wade.

The Satanic Temple released a statement arguing they will fight in court for the right to “religious abortion.”

The Satanic Temple (TST) said its adherents should be permitted religious exceptions to perform religious abortion rituals in states that have put up barriers to the controversial procedure.

Responding to a leaked Supreme Court opinion draft that would overturn Roe v. Wade, TST said it was committed to protecting “religious abortion access” for its members.

“In states that outlaw abortion but grant exceptions for instances of incest and rape,” TST said in a statement, “members should be permitted a religious exception to perform TST’s religious abortion ritual.”

“States that outlaw abortion and do not grant exceptions present more significant challenges, but TST has a number of plans that we will be undertaking quite soon,” TST said. “First, we will be suing the FDA to permit TST access to Mifepristone and Misoprostol for use under medical supervision as part of our religious abortion ritual.”

Ukraine turns off Europe-bound gas

Kiev cites ‘force majeure’ to halt third of gas flow to Europe, while Gazprom says there have been no issues that would justify the move

Russian gas conglomerate Gazprom has received no confirmation of force majeure or any obstacles to continued transit of gas through a junction in Lugansk region, the company said on Tuesday, after Ukraine’s operator OGTSU announced it would halt further deliveries starting May 11, due to the presence of “Russian occupiers.”

Gas Transit Services of Ukraine (OGTSU) declared force majeure on Tuesday, saying that it was impossible to continue transit of gas through a connection point and compressor station located in the Lugansk area. As OGTSU personnel “cannot carry out operational and technological control” over the Sokhranovka connector point and Novopskov compressor station, the company cannot continue to fulfill its contract obligations, it said.

Gas from this connection will not be accepted into the transit system of Ukraine starting at 7 am on Wednesday, OGTSU said. Sokhrankovka accounts for almost a third of Russian gas transiting through Ukraine to Europe – up to 32.6 million cubic meters per day – according to the operators.

Gazprom has received no confirmation of force majeure or disruption of operations at Sokhranovka or Novopskov, company spokesman Sergey Kupriyanov said on Tuesday. He added that Ukrainian specialists have had full access to both facilities all along, and there had been no complaints about it previously.

Kupriyanov also said that Gazprom has been notified by Ukraine’s gas company Naftogaz that if Russia continues to supply gas through Sokhranovka, Kiev will reduce the volume at the point of exit by the same amount, effectively confiscating the gas.

While OGTSU has proposed to reroute the gas to Sudzha, a connector located in the Sumy region and controlled by the Ukrainian government, Kupriyanov said this was “technologically impossible.”

“The distribution of volumes is clearly spelled out in the cooperation agreement dated December 30, 2019, and the Ukrainian side is well aware of this,” he said.

Gazprom is fulfilling all of its obligations to the European customers, with all the transit services in accordance with the terms of the contract and paid in full, Kupriyanov pointed out. Moscow has continued gas deliveries to Europe, including transit through Ukraine, regardless of the ongoing military operation and the embargoes against Russia imposed by the US and its allies in the EU.

Woman Finds Box of Over 100 Mail-In Ballots While Walking Her Dog in Hollywood

A woman walking her dog in East Hollywood found a box of 104 unopened mail-in ballots on the sidewalk on Saturday evening.

Christina Repaci, the woman who found the ballots, said that she saw the USPS box just sitting there filled with envelopes. When she picked one up to investigate, she realized that they were ballots.

“I turned the corner and I just saw this box of envelopes, and it was a USPS box. I picked some envelopes up and I saw they were ballots,” Repaci told Fox 11.

Repaci told the news station that she then took the ballots home for “safe keeping” while she determined what to do with them. She then began sending videos of the ballots to popular social media accounts asking them to share the content.

Finally, she called politicians and the sheriff’s department asking what to do.

“I actually called the Sheriff’s Department. I couldn’t get through, so I emailed them,” she said. “I got an email back from a deputy basically in so many words saying it wasn’t their problem, and to contact the USPS.”

The LA County Registrar’s office eventually contacted her to pick them up, and Registrar Dean Logan personally drove to pick them up.

“It was so much stress and for just one person to get back to me. What do I do here? Now if it happens to someone else, they don’t know what to do. They’ll just put them in a dumpster or throw them in the trash. I just don’t think it should have been this hard to figure out what to do with legal ballots. This is a country of freedom and our votes should matter and something like this should never happen,” said Repaci.

The Los Angeles County Registrar’s Office and the United States Postal Service have confirmed that they have launched an investigation into the mystery box of ballots.

The Registrar’s Office released the following statement about the ballots:

Our office was notified over the weekend of a mail tray found containing approximately 104 unopened, outbound Vote by Mail ballots and additional mail pieces. Thanks to the cooperation of the person who found the ballots, we were able to quickly respond and coordinate the secure pickup of the ballots. We have reissued new ballots to the impacted voters. Early signs indicate that this was an incident of mail theft and not a directed attempt at disrupting the election. We are cooperating with the United States Postal Service and law enforcement to investigate.

Security protocols such as signature verification are in place to protect against any misuse or wrongdoing of Vote by Mail ballots. If a voter sees or hears something that could impact the voting process, they are encouraged to call our office directly at (800) 815-2666 or email voterinfo@rrcc.lacounty.gov.

Abrams, who announced in December that she would take another shot at running for Georgia governor, has repeatedly claimed that the election was “stolen” from Georgia voters and has never conceded her loss to Kemp.

New DOJ Notes Reveal FBI Panic After Trump Tweeted He Knew He Was Being Spied On

Newly released notes taken by high-level Department of Justice (DOJ) officials during a March 6, 2017, meeting with FBI leadership expose some of the lengths the FBI engaged in to cover up its spying on the 2016 campaign of President Donald Trump.

The notes were released on May 8 by lawyers representing former Hillary Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann as part of an effort to clear him on charges of having lied to the FBI. The notes, in reality, appear to do little to exonerate Sussmann but do provide quite a bit of information on the FBI.

The meeting at which the notes were taken took place just two days after Trump’s March 4, 2017, tweet in which he accused former President Barack Obama of having wiretapped Trump Tower. Trump’s tweet panicked FBI leadership, who were unsure exactly how much Trump knew about their efforts to tie him up with Russia collusion allegations.

What the notes reveal is that in response to the tweet, they tried to cover their tracks.

By March 2017, FBI leadership already knew with near-certainty that the Trump–Russia collusion claims were a hoax. They knew that Clinton’s campaign had a plan to vilify Trump by portraying him as a puppet of Putin. The FBI also knew that not a single claim in the so-called Steele dossier—which was the primary source of allegations of Trump–Russia collusion—had checked out.

Nonprofit Watchdog Uncovers $350 Million In Secret Payments To Fauci, Collins, Others At NIH

An estimated $350 million in undisclosed royalties were paid to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and hundreds of its scientists, including the agency’s recently departed director, Dr. Francis Collins, and Dr. Anthony Fauci, according to a nonprofit government watchdog.

“We estimate that up to $350 million in royalties from third parties were paid to NIH scientists during the fiscal years between 2010 and 2020,” Open the Books CEO Adam Andrzejewski told reporters in a telephone news conference on May 9.

“We draw that conclusion because, in the first five years, there has been $134 million that we have been able to quantify of top-line numbers that flowed from third-party payers, meaning pharmaceutical companies or other payers, to NIH scientists.”

The first five years, from 2010 to 2014, constitute 40 percent of the total, he said.

“We now know that there are 1,675 scientists that received payments during that period, at least one payment. In fiscal year 2014, for instance, $36 million was paid out and that is on average $21,100 per scientist,” Andrzejewski said.

“We also find that during this period, leadership at NIH was involved in receiving third-party payments. For instance, Francis Collins, the immediate past director of NIH, received 14 payments. Dr. Anthony Fauci received 23 payments and his deputy, Clifford Lane, received eight payments.”

Collins resigned as NIH director in December 2021 after 12 years of leading the world’s largest public health agency. Fauci is the longtime head of NIH’s National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), as well as chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden. Lane is the deputy director of NIAID, under Fauci.

Madison Police Chief Slammed for Soft Statement on Firebombing of Pro-Life Nonprofit

Madison’s Police Chief has come under fire over his statement on Sunday’s firebombing that targeted the office of a pro-life nonprofit. In an official statement on the attack, Chief Shon Barnes addressed concerns from “members of the community” over the leaked SCOTUS Roe v. Wade opinion in the very first line.

“The Madison Police Department understands members of our community are feeling deep emotions due to the recent news involving the United States Supreme Court,” wrote Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes in a statement.

“Early Sunday morning, our team began investigating a suspicious fire inside an office building on the city’s north side,” the statement continues. “It appears a specific non-profit that supports anti-abortion measures was targeted. Our department has and continues to support people being able to speak freely and openly about their beliefs. But we feel that any acts of violence, including the destruction of property, do not aid in any cause.”

Barnes’ statement has received backlash for addressing the political grievances of the attacker, as well as the lack of hard condemnation.

“Do you think the Police Chief would have said this if someone did this to a Planned Parenthood building?!? They’d be out of control,” wrote former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker in a tweet. “What a double standard. Violence is violence and it should condemned, period.”

U.S. Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN) called the Madison Police Chief’s response “shameful” in a tweet of his own. “There should be zero excuses or sympathy for violent arsonists,” Banks wrote. “Shameful response!”

Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes is asking for the public’s help to find those responsible. Federal law enforcement, including the FBI, is assisting with the investigation.

New South Korean President Takes Office, Offers ‘Audacious’ Economic Plan If North Abandons Nukes

SEOUL—South Korea’s new president Yoon Suk-yeol said on Tuesday that North Korea’s weapons programs pose a threat but that he is ready to provide an “audacious” economic plan if the North is committed to denuclearization.

Yoon gave the remarks in his inauguration speech after being sworn in at a ceremony in Seoul. He won a tight election in March as the standard bearer of the main conservative People Power Party, less than a year after entering politics following a 26-year career as a prosecutor.

Yoon, 61, will face two major problems as he takes office: a belligerent North Korea testing new weapons and inflation threatening to undermine an economic recovery from two years of COVID-19 gloom.

He has signaled a tougher line on North Korea, warning of a preemptive strike if there is a sign of an imminent attack and vowing to strengthen the South’s deterrent capability. But his speech was seen as focused more on his willingness to reopen stalled denuclearization talks with Pyongyang.

“While North Korea’s nuclear weapon programs are a threat not only to our security and that of Northeast Asia, the door to dialogue will remain open so that we can peacefully resolve this threat,” Yoon said.

“If North Korea genuinely embarks on a process to complete denuclearization, we are prepared to work with the international community to present an audacious plan that will vastly strengthen North Korea’s economy and improve the quality of life for its people,” he added.

Elon Musk Says He Is ‘Exactly Aligned’ with Censorious European Union on Internet Speech

Tech billionaire Elon Musk seemingly kowtowed to the European Union on internet freedom of speech, declaring that he is “exactly aligned” with the bloc’s regulations on online expression.

Despite Elon Musk’s stated commitment to bringing free speech principles back to the internet following his successful buyout offer of Twitter, he appeared to backtrack on such a standard following a meeting with Thierry Breton, the European Commissioner for the Internal Market, who has spearheaded efforts to introduce more limits on internet speech within the EU.

On Monday, Mr Breton shared a video from the Tesla plant in Austin, Texas, following a meeting with Musk, in which the eurocrat said that he had explained the outlines of the Digital Services Act (DSA) that is set to require social media platforms and other sites to regulate “hate speech” or other “harmful” content as well as so-called “disinformation”.

Once implemented the DSA could see the companies such as Twitter face fines of up to six per cent of their global revenue.

In a slightly stuttering statement standing alongside the DSA architect, Musk said: “I very much agree with… it’s been a great discussion… I really think… I agree with everything you said, really. I think we are very much of the same mind and anything that my companies can do that will be beneficial to Europe, we want to do that.”

Musk said that the DSA is “exactly aligned with my thinking.”

Breton, a former French finance minister, had previously warned Mr Musk of falling afoul of speech codes in Europe, saying after the news of the Tesla owner’s attempted takeover of Twitter: “Elon, there are rules… You are welcome but these are our rules. It’s not your rules which will apply here.”

The eurocrat has long demanded more government censorship of the internet. Following the January 6th unrest at the Capitol Building in Washington DC, the French politician said that it was a result of the alleged proliferation of “hate speech, incitement to violence, disinformation and destabilization strategies” on social media.

Breton, therefore, called for the Biden administration to “join forces, as allies of the free world” to craft a “new global approach to online platforms”.

“Just as 9/11 marked a paradigm shift for global security, 20 years later we are witnessing a before-and-after in the role of digital platforms in our democracy,” he argued.

Gunmen shot and killed two journalists in a brazen daylight attack in the state of Veracruz. The murders mark the 11th and 12th of their kind in 2022.

On Monday afternoon, unknown gunmen shot and killed Yessenia Mollinedo Falconi, the director of the online news outlet El Veraz, and her reporter Sheila Johana García Olivera, who were inside a parked sedan near a convenience store in Cosoleacaque.

The Veracruz Attorney General’s Office confirmed the attack and claimed that they would be investigating. Despite official assurances, international press freedom organizations continue to claim that the majority of crimes against journalists remain unsolved. Google has the power to manipulate what you see online, targeting you with certain advertisements and burying search results they’d rather you not see. But can they go so far as to control the outcome of political elections? People have no idea they’re being manipulated, number one, and number two, authorities can’t go back in time to see what people were being shown, in other words, how they were being manipulated.”3

Money for Weapons as the Planet Burns

Two important reports were released last month, neither getting the kind of attention they deserve. On April 4, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Working Group III report was published, evoking a strong reaction from the United Nations’ Secretary General António Guterres.

The report, he said, “is a litany of broken climate promises. It is a file of shame, cataloguing the empty pledges that put us firmly on track towards an unlivable world.” At COP26, the developed countries pledged to spend a modest $100 billion for the Adaptation Fund to assist developing countries adapt to climate change.

Meanwhile, on April 25, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) issued its annual report, finding that the world’s military spending, for the first time, surpassed the $2 trillion mark. The five largest spenders – the United States, China, India, the United Kingdom and Russia – accounted for 62 percent of this amount. The United States, by itself, accounts for 40 percent of total arms expenditure.

There is an endless flow of money for weapons but less than a pittance to avert planetary disaster.

Woke Agenda: NYC Schools Are Teaching Kids That White People Created Racism

An “inflammatory” children’s book being spread to New York City schools teaches kids as young as 2 that the idea of race was formed by white people who insisted they were “better, smarter, prettier, and that they deserve more than everybody else.”

The book “Our Skin” was penned by Harlem activist Megan Madison and Brooklynite and library worker Jessica Ralli and published last year. It starts with a simple conversation regarding skin tones — then launches into a screed that blames the race's notion on white people and an illustration of scary-looking human skulls encased in glass and sitting on shelves.

“A long time ago, way before you were born, a group of white people made up an idea called race. They sorted people by skin color and said that white people were better, smarter, prettier, and that they deserve more than everybody else,” the book states.

It goes on to state “That isn’t true or fair at all!” with a picture of a “Caucasian” man holding up the “Most beautiful skull.”

The book, aimed at those ages 2 to 5, has been distributed to at least one Manhattan kindergarten, one on Staten Island and a school in Brooklyn and seems to be part of the Department of Education’s new “Universal Mosaic Curriculum.” The DOE announced the plan under former Mayor de Blasio to standardize instructional materials and “better reflect” the system’s demographics. It is to start in 2023.

The time is on a suggested reading list parents can access through the website TeachingBooks. The site declares that it is part of the “Universal Mosaic Independent Reading Collections'' for kindergartners created by the DOE’s Library Services.
