I see your point.
But pure and wholesome are not the same thing.
I don't even think "pure" is ever even something we should hope for humans to be, be they children or adults.
Life is about hitting obstacles and learning to surmount them in ways that make it seem you couldn't have done without them.
That goes for children and adults.
The corruption of society tells people to identify with the obstacles.
We need to learn to take the hits and remain whole and even use them to become more wholesome.
And we need to teach that to children.
