She Was Framed: CBS Reporter Sharyl Attkisson- Government Planted Classified Documents On My Computer

Most Scandalous Government Abuse of Power in Modern Times

Thomas Jefferson wrote: A press that is free to investigate and criticize the government is absolutely essential in a nation that practices self-government and is therefore dependent on an educated and enlightened citizenry…

The Obama Administration has seen fit to mock and ridicule any and all attempts of the press to get the facts out to the public. Since most of the media is compliant, it hasn’t been to difficult for them to say, ‘that’s an old story, move on’. Now and then a real journalist comes along and bucks ‘the system’ and we are seeing the results. Hacking into her computer, removing documents and e-mails and putting classified documents on the hard drive for purposes of perhaps starting an investigation similar to that of Fox News Reporter James Rosen.

Attorney General Eric Holder signed off on a controversial search warrant that identified Fox News reporter James Rosen as a ‘possible co-conspirator’ in violations of the Espionage Act and authorized seizure of his private emails.”

Sharyl Attkinson a Former CBS News reporter who quit the network over claims it kills stories that put President Obama in a bad light says she was spied on by a “government-related entity” that planted classified documents on her computer.

In her new memoir, Sharyl Attkisson, Winner of 2003 Emmy Award for Investigative Reporting, speculates that the motive was to lay the groundwork for potential charges against her for the purpose of silencing her and/or her sources and stopping her investigations.

The breach was accomplished through an “otherwise innocuous e-mail” that Attkisson says she got in February 2012, then twice “redone” and “refreshed” through a satellite hookup and a Wi-Fi connection at a Ritz-Carlton hotel. The email immediately followed a story she wrote about Fast & Furious.

The spyware included programs that Attkisson says monitored her every keystroke and gave the hacker access to all her e-mails and the passwords to her financial accounts. In her new memoir, Attkisson says that a government entity hacked into her computer, logged keystrokes, accessed e-mails and captured passwords for applications including her personal financial accounts. The program also allegedly was able to initiate her Skype account and collect audio.

Attkisson says her source — identified only as “Number One” — told her the spying was most likely not court-authorized because it went on far longer than most legal taps.

But the most shocking finding, she says, was the discovery of three classified documents that Number One told her were “buried deep in your operating system. In a place that, unless you’re some kind of computer whiz specialist, you wouldn’t even know exists.”

It should not escape notice that CBS News President David Rhodes’ brother, Ben, is a national security advisor for Obama.

ATF Fast and Furious: New documents show Attorney General Eric Holder was briefed in July 2010

WASHINGTON - New documents obtained by CBS News show Attorney GeneralEric Holder was sent briefings on the controversial Fast and Furious operation as far back as July 2010. That directly contradicts his statement to Congress.

On May 3, 2011, Holder told a Judiciary Committee hearing, "I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks."

Yet internal Justice Department documents show that at least ten months before that hearing, Holder began receiving frequent memos discussing Fast and Furious.

The documents came from the head of the National Drug Intelligence Center and Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer.

In Fast and Furious, ATF agents allegedly allowed thousands of weapons to cross the border and fall into the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

Gunwalking scandal uncovered at ATF

It's called letting guns "walk," and it remained secret to the public until Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was murdered last December. Two guns from Fast and Furious were found at the scene, and ATF agent John Dodson blew the whistle on the operation.

Agent: I was ordered to let guns "walk" into Mexico

(Watch Holder's statement to Congress in May, 2011 below)

Ever since, the Justice Department has publicly tried to distance itself. But the new documents leave no doubt that high level Justice officials knew guns were being "walked."

Two Justice Department officials mulled it over in an email exchange Oct. 18, 2010. "It's a tricky case given the number of guns that have walked but is a significant set of prosecutions," says Jason Weinstein, Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division. Deputy Chief of the National Gang Unit James Trusty replies "I'm not sure how much grief we get for 'guns walking.' It may be more like, "Finally they're going after people who sent guns down there."

The Justice Department told CBS News that the officials in those emails were talking about a different case started before Eric Holder became Attorney General. And tonight they tell CBS News, Holder misunderstood that question from the committee - he did know about Fast and Furious - just not the details.

First, Holder new about Fast and Furious as Project Gunrunner no later than April 2nd 2009 in Cuernavaca, Mexico, Attorney General Holder spoke about our ramping up Project Gunrunner at a conference on arms trafficking.

Everyone is talking around the issue. I think the issue is the specifics of how gun walking was used by the Justice Department and why. This is not about the political agenda - we are always in a battle over politics. Our issue should be the knowing acceptance of the "collateral damage" associated with the gathering of information for the purpose of bureaucratic regulation making.

On December 17th, 2 days after Brian Terry was murdered, the ATF posted for comment a new regulation proposing the reporting of multiple rifle sales with detachable magazines in States bordering Mexico. The regulation was justified according to the written explanation accompanying the proposed regulation: "…Successful trace data from recovered rifles confirm that the United States is a significant source of these rifles by FFLs in the southwest Border States, and that many have been sold by FFLs."

Was the political purpose of Fast and Furious simply the gathering of data for the purpose of the creation of new gun regulations - starting with ATF Form 3310.12, Report of Multiple Sale or Other Disposition of Certain Rifles?

If the political purpose of "Fast and Furious" was creating crime data for regulatory reform, can a study of the regulatory creation process for ATF Form 3310.12, Report of Multiple Sale or Other Disposition of Certain Rifles help us find out the political operatives that were behind the regulation and its data gathering methods?

if you look at where this story has come,

back in feb ish the whistleblower, an ATF agent, was the only one saying by name what happened. Fast & Furious

And DOJ and everybody else painted him as some sort of strange liar outlier not telling the truth.

we've now gone from there, one guy saying it happened, topretty much everybody admitting it happened.

Sharyl Attkisson the ‘ONLY reporter not being reasonable’ about Fast and Furious

Neo / October 5, 2011

A reporter for CBS claimed that White House and Department of Justice officials screamed and cursed at her due to a story she was pursuing about the controversial DOJ program known as “Fast and Furious.”

Attkisson told Laura Ingraham that, when she broke a damning story about the operation, she got extremely aggressive pushback from the Obama administration. She said that a DOJ spokeswoman named Tracy Schmaler had yelled at her on Monday about the story, but that it was nothing compared to the way a White House spokesman named Eric Schultz had acted.

Attkisson said he had “literally screamed at me and cussed at me” about the story, and that the White House also told her that she was the only reporter not being “reasonable” about the issue.
