Anyway, there has been a bunch of bru ha ha about the Shanghai contingent of the CCP coming for Xi's head this year. Rumors were that's why Xi shut down Shanghai a couple months ago, to get the Shanghai CCP members under his thumb.
The Washington Times article says Xi will step down later this year. We shall see, but this all fits into the rumor mill that has been churning since the beginning of the year.
