Muslim Students Murder Christian Girl In Sokoto Over Alleged Blasphemy, Her Corpse Burnt
Irate students have murdered a Christian female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto on Thursday morning over alleged blasphemy.
The deceased, identified only as Ms Deborah, was accused of passing unflattering comments about Prophet Mohammed (SAW) on the college campus.
Following immediate threats to her safety, she was immediately evacuated to the security post of the school, according to a student who witnessed the development.
But the mob pursued her to the security post and overpowered the personnel on duty.
A video of how she was murdered and set ablaze has already gone viral on the social media.
A source said that the deceased, named Deborah, was alleged to have used blasphemous language.
According to the source, “she was having an argument with some of her schoolmates over their ongoing examination and when she was asked how she managed to pass her exams, she said it was Jesus.
“She was asked to withdraw the statement and apologise which she refused.
“The school security intervened, and took her to their post but they were overpowered by students after which she was killed in the process.
“After killing her, her body was burnt on the school premises,” he added.
Authorities of the college have issued a statement announcing immediate closure of the school over the fracas that broke out following the incident.
