what does it mean to 'normal" people without gold?
one effect of pounding down gold (and crypto) is it makes people discount them as alternatives to the current fiat money
dropping gold price in us $ is partialy because the us dollar is stengthening against other world currencies
rising interest rates pull $$$ out of gold into things that pay interest
maybe it is a sign that people are having to sell gold to pay margin calls on falling stocks they have on leverage
